The only advantage of this hotel is its location: not very far from the train station, not very far from Vieux Port. All the rest are disadvantages: 1/ Very dirty and poorly maintained Our room was terrible. VERY dirty, there were spots absolutely everywhere, even on curtains and celling! Strange drops on blue walls like somebody spilt juice. In addition to that, all four walls were scratched. I tried to capture this by camera. A lot of broken details everywhere, for example, a ventilation grill on a balcony. If things aren’t broken then they’re heavily scratched, for example, a bathtub. 2/ Very noisy The room window looked out onto the square with the arc. Nice view BUT it’s very noisy all day long and even at night. 3/ Luggage room I received a message from the hotel that they don’t have a luggage room. So, I had to pay 15€ at the train station to store my suitcase and bags. On check-in I asked why they don’t have a luggage room. And they answered they have it and showed it to me… So, what was this message???
I wasn’t sure what to expect of M****illes to be honest, but I absolutely loved it. The hotel is great value and very comfortable with free breakfast , wifi and reasonably priced parking. Opted for a larger size room because we like extra space. Liked the hotel so much we booked for a second night. The area has a great buzz, lots of kebab and coffee shops. You can easily walk to the port. Uber available for longer trips.
The location in the new business district of Marseilles, the cleanliness, free WiFi and the Novotel's spacious suites with a balcony and a view of the cruise terminal convinced us. Since we were on a road trip through France and Spain with some friends, we traveled in a van. Unfortunately, the parking garages in these countries only have a limited height, but in the parking garage of this accomodiation, which was a 5-minute walk away, it was suitable for our large vehicle, was very generous and was also discounted for hotel guests. The staff at Novotel Suites was very friendly, a bar, a gym and a restaurant with daily breakfast were among the amenities of this hotel. We didn't use the breakfast because there were very good and cozy breakfast places where you can sit outside in the surrounding area. A shopping mall and public transport connections (metro/tram) were in the immediate vicinity. The Old Harbor with a lot of seafood restaurants and a wonderful atmosphere in the evening was easy to reach in about 15 minutes on foot. We can recommend this hotel, especially for guests with a large car.
What makes this place special are the people. Yes, it is modern, tastefully designed and immaculate with great access to public transport and a couple of local treasures, the front desk with Tata, Tania and Sujata, complete with broad smiles and great local knowledge are a compliment to manager Emmanuel and Mr Fixit, Julian.
My partner and I are staying in this hotel tonight (17Sep) The good. New hotel, feels clean and fresh. Nice airy lobby / reception area. Small pool but clean and inviting. Really friendly staff, I’ve asked for slippers and bucket of ice, delivered to our room within minutes with a smile. Thank you🌸 Underground car park, very convenient, but expensive. Bad: Our room ( no 814) has a very strange layout. The bathroom is “split” in half. Toilet is located separately by the door and the other “part of the bathroom” sink and shower is located on the other side of the room. Separate toilet has NO sink, so every time we use toilet we have to walk to the other side of the room to wash hands - unpractical, illogical and dead annoying. Very limited room service menu, very few dishes, no wine, no champi. The area - really dirty, rubbish on the street, noise from nearby apartment blocks. All in all - okay’ish for 1-2 nights not longer.
訪訪客It was disappointing to see that the hôtel location is long time walking from city center and not idéal location but the view is pretty and breakfast disappointing with Frozen food as well
This will be a full review. First off the hotel is near a Metro station and near a “Gare” so a high speed train or metro is 5-15 minutes away by walk. The area of the hotel was fairly dirty, and classically smelled of sewers but that is just how France is sometimes. The check in process was great, they answered all our questions, were very knowledgeable and between both of them spoke very good French and English. It was explained to us that there would be no one entering our suite to clean during our stay. Alright. Not a huge issue but would have been nice. It can be done by request but I presume for a fee. (Will explain the snark later) Entering our room, it was bigger than our room was in Paris. It had a normal hotel size TV with decent channels. We had booked a double bed which was actually just two single beds. Unfortunately they didn’t even have a sheet between the mattress cover and the comforter. This is an issue because the A/C doesn’t work at all and leads to the window being open all night. There are mosquitos and we got bugged very often by them. But it was too warm in the room to close the window and the comforter was too warm to have on all the way. This led to some really poor sleeps. They do have a kitchenette which was decent but note that it only has enough plates and cutlery for 2 people. The bathroom was alright, fairly clean. They only left us 1 toilet paper roll which they again don’t come in your room to refill. They gave two towels, two face towels and a bath mat, fairly standard. It also had a great towel warmer which was a nice perk. Unfortunately we wanted new towels halfway through our stay and we’re told we had to pay extra for new towels! What the heck. That’s just BS. The shower was crap. Hot water only stayed on for a few minutes at most if you were lucky. The shower head is fine but the shower is designed in such a way, with no shower curtain just a 1/3 glass pane that water just spills all over the bathroom. You have to hold the shower head the whole time making it difficult to enjoy your shower. So we decided to wash our towels ourselves and some clothes as we are on a longer vacation. We had to buy our own soap, no problem with that. But the washing machine had a wash time of 40 minutes . We went down 40 minutes later and there was still 20 minutes on the timer. Not just that, but the clothes drier was broken and clearly had been for ages. So instead we had to drape our wet clothes across our room to dry everything. This was my first time staying at an adagio aparthotel. Had things been a little more standard and complimentary and well thought out for 200$ CAD a night, I would consider staying again but save yourself the trouble and pay a little more for a nicer place.
訪訪客Our stay at Hotel Mercure in M****ille was nothing short of excellent, highlighted by the remarkable service provided by their exceptional team. The star of my experience, without a doubt, was Ben, the receptionist. His assistance during the check-in process was seamless, efficient, and truly welcoming, setting a high standard for the remainder of my stay. Navigating M****ille's busy streets was initially challenging, but locating the hotel's carpark became incredibly simple thanks to Ben's comprehensive directions and friendly assistance. His exceptional professionalism, combined with his warm personality, added a special touch to our visit. I highly recommend this hotel for its top-tier service, superior accommodations, and outstanding staff.
JJeremy KWe stayed here for the rugby world cup and I will admit I was a bit wary about staying in an Ibis budget as I have had mixed experiences. Fair to say my worries were alleviated almost instantly. The location was fantastic, very close to the port and on a street with some fantastic restaurants. It is also close to a ****** (small food shop) which was helpful. We were on the top floor and heat was initially a worry, but the AC unit was fantastic. The room was cozy, as to expected by a hotel in this price range, but did the job. The bathroom was clean. The breakfast was genuinely surprisingly very good. Lots of sweet and savoury options, catering to the British contingent as well as local French tastes. If I were to travel back to Marseille, and was on a tighter budget this would definitely be my hotel of choice.
Recently stayed here at 50Euro per night, The hotel is located a stone's throw away from Vieux-Port in a side street, hence giving you access to town centre, the metro. With a tiny and almost hidden entrance the hotel, its easy to miss. From the rooms you can hear the hustle and bustle even at night however I like this kind of sound and slept with the windows open. The staff were absolutely fantastic (thanks to the 2 gentlemen and 1 lady) and was manned 24 hours per day. The rooms itself are small and quite basic, and not suited to families, but for single or couples looking for a place to stay. You would consider this a budget hotel without any luxuries at 50 Euro at night, id say its fair value. Thanks for the great stay, staff and location made it great
