The Riad is ok and pleasant, quite pretty and quiet. However, the real stars are the employees. Abdel is a great guy that deserves to be running the place or be the manager. The cleaning lady does a fantastic job and the cook makes such a nice breakfast. Only a couple of downsides to my stay: - Where I booked the room, it is advertised under room amenities "Climate-controlled air conditioning". Anybody would expect (and even more if it is Marrakesh) that the AC would have the cold air function. However, the room I was given didn't have an AC machine with a cold function. There is a machine that has got the same function as any cheap heater from home. It blows air and resistance heats up the air. The only options from the machine are to blow room temperature air and the same plus level one or two for the resistances (hot). - The next point (detailed below), I would like to believe it is a situation happening in the country and not just in this riad, so It should be up to the Riad's owner to improve the employees working conditions. Abdel, the great guy I mentioned above, works 17 hours a day, every day. While I was staying at the hotel, the guy worked 3 days in a row without a break. This means no free time to go to his house to have a shower and rest. Even if the guy was paid more than the minimum salary (less than 300 euros -before taxes- per month), this should be illegal. If after reading this review, you would like to help the employees by tipping them, I would suggest giving the tip straight to them (and being generous) rather than putting the money in the tip box at the desk at the entrance.
