Mardin’de geçirdiğimiz günleri unutulmaz kılan, taş duvarlarının ardında kalpleri ısıtan bir sıcaklık barındıran Mardius Tarihi Konak’ta konaklamak bizim için bir seyahatten çok daha fazlasıydı. Daha kapıdan adımımızı attığımız anda bizi içten gülümsemesiyle karşılayan Dilber Hanım, ilk andan itibaren bir misafir gibi değil, aileden biri gibi hissettirdi. Ardından Mardius’un tüm kıymetli ekibi, büyük bir incelikle yanımızda oldular. Her detayla ilgilenmeleri, samimiyetleri ve güler yüzleriyle bu konakta sadece kalmadık; sanki bir zaman yolculuğuna çıkıp köklerimize dokunduk. Otelin sahibi Günal Bey’in ilgisi ve zarafeti, bu deneyimi daha da özel kıldı. Onun sayesinde Mardius ailesiyle kurduğumuz bağ içten, güçlü ve unutulmaz oldu. Bir yere ait olmak hissini, bir konağın taşlarında değil, oradaki insanların yüreğinde bulduk. Belki de bu yüzden, Ahmet Hamdi Tanpınar’ın şu sözleri geldi aklıma: “Bazen bir evi, bir şehri değil, bir duyguyu özler insan.” Biz de Mardius’tan ayrılırken bir şehri değil, bize hissettirdikleri o duyguyu özlemeye başladık bile. Ve tabii ki, konak hanımefendisi, Günal Bey’in kıymetli annesi Peyruze Hanım’ın özel tarifiyle hazırlanan Peyran çorbası… Tadı damağımızda, hatırası kalbimizde kaldı. Gönlümüzde özel bir yer edinen Mardius Ailesi’ne sonsuz teşekkürler… Mardin’e bir gün yolunuz düşerse, bu konağa sadece konuk olmak için değil, kendinizi bulmak için uğrayın derim.

馬爾迪烏斯飯店地理位置絕佳，就在馬爾丁老城區商業區下方，面對敘利亞和美索不達米亞北部。狹窄的階梯巷是通往飯店的唯一通道。我們的行李由驢子馱運。酒店是由一戶人家改建而成，而這正是問題所在。我們的房間完全由石頭砌成，空間狹小，擺滿了老式家具，走在裡面簡直是一場磨破小腿的冒險。更糟的是，通往浴室的石拱門最高處大約有1.57米，而我光腳就有1.​​78米。每次進出都讓人膽戰心驚。雪上加霜的是，洗手台竟然凸出在樓梯上方。最後，在這個保守的穆斯林社區，晚餐不提供葡萄酒我們並不感到意外，但讓我們驚訝的是，酒店竟然允許我們自帶酒水，只要我們低調行事，不被人看見！每晚將近500美元，感覺就像回到了高中時代，偷偷摸摸地想喝上一口葡萄酒。五星級飯店的餐飲服務，尤其是考慮到顧客群體的多樣性，制定這樣的規則簡直不可原諒。

Mardin’de Zamanda Yolculuk Gibi Bir Konaklama... Mardin, mistik atmosferi ve tarihi dokusuyla adeta zamanda yolculuk yapıyormuş hissi veren büyüleyici bir şehir. Bu eşsiz deneyimi, konakladığım tarihi konakta yaşamak ise gerçekten unutulmazdı! Otel, taş duvarları, zarif işlemeleri ve avlusundaki huzurlu atmosferiyle tam anlamıyla bir tarih şöleni sunuyor. Kendimi bir zamanlar bu sokaklarda yankılanan kadim medeniyetlerin izinde gibi hissettim. Odanın dekorasyonu otantik detaylarla bezenmişti ve modern konforla harmanlanmıştı. Personel ise son derece misafirperver ve ilgiliydi. Güler yüzleri, sıcak sohbetleri ve her an yardımcı olma istekleri sayesinde kendimi özel hissettim. Kahvaltı ise başlı başına bir deneyimdi! Yöresel lezzetlerin özenle sunulduğu bu ziyafet, Mardin’in zengin mutfağını keşfetmek için harika bir başlangıç oldu. Konum olarak da otel, Mardin’in dar sokaklarını keşfetmek için ideal bir noktadaydı. Gün batımında şehrin altın rengine bürünen taş evlerine karşı kahvemi yudumlamak, bu konaklamanın en büyüleyici anlarından biriydi. Eğer Mardin’in büyüsünü tam anlamıyla yaşamak ve tarihin içinde konforlu bir deneyim geçirmek istiyorsanız, burası MARDIUS TARİHİ KONAK kesinlikle tercih etmeniz gereken bir yer...Hızır Bey ve şahsında tüm ekibe teşekkürler. If you want to experience luxury local accommodation this is the one of the best location. Breakfast is really special.You can find local tastes with stylish service. All hotel and rooms are old Mardin style stone made with luxury boutique style. All hotel team is really very kind and all the time very helpful.They make you feel like you are at home. The access to hotel is 5 minutes walking from main road.But you don’t need to carry your luggages the hotel takes them.Walking to/from hotel gives you the real feeling of ancient Mardin because of the old stone roads and stairs. I would definitely recommend to stay here if you don’t have any problem with walking.

2 gece konakladığımız Mardius Konak, Mardin gezimizin en güzel ayrıntısı oldu. Bütün dünyayı gezmiş biri olarak, inanılmaz buldum. Dilber hanım, İbrahim Bey ve Mahmut Bey’in insana evinde hissettiren ev sahipliği ve konağın tarihi yapısı bizi çok mutlu ve huzurlu hissettirdi. Artık Mardin’de adresimiz belli…

Beautiful old stone mansion with all the comforts of modern day living. Excellent service and rich variety breakfast. I would like to express special gratitude to Mr. Mahmut Korhan whose kind assistance was way above our expectations. Our stay was a truly wonderful and unforgettable experience.

Mardin’de ailece konakladığımız enfes bir yer. Konukseverlik ve yardımları için tüm ekibe teşekkür ederiz. Mardin’de kalınacak tek yer. Tarihi ve manzarası ile tam bir yaşayan konak. Şahane teras manzarası ile tüm Harran ovası görünmekte. Tekrar ziyaret edeceğiz.

I am Rolan Mardini from Dubai, United Arab Emirates. My stay in the hotel from 29 October till 31 October was a wonderful stay. I felt like I am deep in the history. The building makes you feel that you are in away in the history. The interior, room, service and care that I was experiencing during my three days stay was unforgettable. The owner, management make me feel at home and family with a service and care that were special, unique through out my stay. I encourage every one who visit Mardin to stay in this hotel. Stayed 5 nights at the most expensive, dickensian room with musty furniture on the third floor, room 303. The positives 1. Staff were lovely and helpful. 2. Housekeeping was good. 3. Breakfast was traditional Turkish fare, good and adequate. The not-so-great 1. The location is not for everyone. It's on a slope. So you need to trek through a labyrinth of winding, steep, chipped stone steps of varying heights and depths for 10minutes to get to the old city centre at the top. Can be treacherous for the elderly and young kids. Coming back down has an added dimension of challenge because it's poorly lit and some sections have no lights, miss a step and you'll be in for a nasty fall. After 5 days of staying here, I developed athlete's knee syndrome. 2. Back in the hotel, it's another two more flights of steep stone steps to get to the third floor room. And in the room, another flight of steps to get to the bedroom. The salon and toilet are on the first floor of the split level room. So getting to the toilet in the middle of the night is challenging as there's no light switch at the top of the winding stairs. And if you're tall, you'll need to contend with low arch entryways in the room and in the hotel. 3. There's not much of a view from inside the room. The view from the two grilled small windows in the bedroom is underwhelming, not worth paying a premium for. Also, the wifi on the third floor is weak and drops off every other minute. There's no mod con such as an electric kettle and teabags etc in the room. The daily rate at this hotel is a multiple of what you'll pay at the 5 star hotels in the new city centre. A better strategy would be to stay in the new city centre and hop on the minibus to the old city, a 20/25 min loop that runs every 10 min or so. You want the panoramic view, you can get that at all the public spaces in the old city centre.

Once again , i absolutely loved my stay at Mardius Tarihi Konak. The atmosphere is unique, the staff are incredibly welcoming, and the views from the terrace are unforgettable.

Turkish hospitality at its best! We had the pleasure of staying at Mardius for a couple of days, and have to say that it was by far, notably, one of the best hotels we have stayed in. As a family owned and operated boutique hotel, great attention and care is given to every guest from the moment they arrive. The hotel, once the family home, was painstakingly renovated to the smallest detail, but without sacrificing modern day conveniences. The rooms are delightfully designed, comfortable and spacious. Breakfast is included and is fit for Kings. Another must-do is to have dinner, where the delightful family recipes are recreated and a truly decadent spread is prepared especially for you. Wish we could have stayed longer, but I know I'll certainly be coming back!
