We spent 5 days at this Agriturismo and I can only rave about the experience and recommend it highly. An Agriturismo is essentially a working farm with a B&B attached and this was of the highest standard. If you have read previous reviews, then disregard any comments about the rooms as they have been fully renovated in 2023 and are of the highest standards. Comfortable beds; beautiful bathrooms with walk in showers and a/c. The farmhouse itself is outstanding with a large patio overlooking the countryside; a pool; and an enclosed glass structure for conversation or evening drinks. It is high on a hill so the views are spectacular. Breakfast on the patio was gourmet quality with huge choice and the staff are friendly and nothing is too much. Sereni is also a gourmet restaurant open 4 nights and week and Sunday lunch. We ate there twice and can honestly say two of the finest meals I have ever eaten. The filet was just unreal. Umberto and his staff are friendly and efficient. One morning we saw 3 elderly ladies making the pasta for that evening. It is all hand made and locally grown on their farm. The main product is Balsamic Vinegar for which they are renowned. The grow all the grapes and olives themselves. The tour was highly interesting and you would be amazed how long it takes to make high quality balsamic. The tour includes a tasting which was eye opening. Good balsamic is not acidic and can be used on food such as rice; eggs etc. I will never buy supermarket "black water" again which is actually largely grape vinegar. Put this on your bucket list. It is not far from Modena but you obviously need a car. The one thing to note it is a scary drive up the mountain where 2 cars passing is an adventure not for the feint if heart. From there we visited Modena; Bologna; Ferrara; Parma; Ferrari factory; Pavarotti house etc. At the bottom of the hill is Castelvetro di Modena with some nice restaurants but note that most are closed on Monday and are only open from 7.30pm. (Ristorante Zoello is open Monday and excellent). Getting food between lunch and dinner in Italy is impossible! This is a great base for a tour of Northern Italy!

We loved everything about this stay. A lovely old farmhouse, just 6 rooms. Rooms are recently refurbished, much improved on the website images which we had seen when booking, they are lush and to a high standard. Incredible black out and very quiet so we slept very well. We had a small balcony overlooking the guest pool and the rolling fields to the distance, really lovely outlook and all of the surrounding area is very pretty, high up in the hills. The estate has vineyards for the production of balsamic vinegar, an award winning family estate for over a century, and also lovely olive trees. Make sure you do the balsamic tour, it's insightful and delicious! Breakfast is included and was a lovely continental buffet, you can eat indoors but on the terrace is best when the weather is good. We also had dinner one evening which was delicious and of course everything is served with some lovely balsamic. The local area has a plethora of fabulous dining options within about 15 minutes drive. Sereni is family run and service was very friendly. We highly recommend this stay and would love to visit again one day.

Excellent friendly service from start to finish, can’t wait to come back. We had the suit which was stunning with the biggest shower I’ve ever been in ! The view from the terrace is breathtaking. Food was excellent with delicious local wine pairing. The tour of the balsamic vinegar production was very interesting and worth delaying our trip to Siena for. Thank you for everything

This acetaia has been in the Sereni family for four generations. Umberto Sereni, part of the current generation has assumed responsibility for running the agriturismo accommodation and restaurant (as well as expanding distribution of their balsamic product to the US). He oversees every detail of the operation. The location is dramatic. The buildings overlook a large valley and hills in the distance. But, while it is in the country, it is only a ten-minute drive to Castelvetro di Modena, a storybook medieval Italian village. We stayed in the Vigna suite on the first floor (2nd in US) which consisted of a large bedroom, kitchen and dining space and small sitting area. It had three different terraces, each with French doors and each looking in a different direction. There were 2 AC units and 2 flat screen TV’s Breakfast was extensive and delicious: yogurt, cheeses, cold cuts, breads, eggs, juices, coffee, etc. We took the balsamic experience tour. Absolutely a must. Dinner is not served every night, but the one meal we did have surpassed every other meal on our trip.
