The hotel is DIRTY and dark and dated. The hallways are super dark and scary. Room was DIRTY! Hair on bedding, body glitter on towels. Shower broken and tub floor was black! Sink was cracked. We checked in walked into room then walked out of room and checked out! We got married here 18 years ago. This is NOT the same place it was 18 years ago. Don't bother with this place it is disgusting!

The Bertram is well-maintained and overall is a similar quality to a Holiday Inn Express, so not bad. Four issues: first, there is no place at the hotel for breakfast or lunch (unless there is something served at a conference you are attending at the Bertram), and the nearest restaurants are at least a half-mile-plus away, so not really walking distance. Dinner at Paws (casual dining and bar) was okay, but not outstanding. Second, for some reason the hotel wifi would automatically disconnect from your devices every few hours, and you would have to reconnect. Third, while it is nice to have an outdoor heated pool, c'mon, this is Cleveland, and this far north the season for enjoying an outdoor pool is pretty short. Fourth, the hotel is kind of in the middle of nowhere.

Good location. A classic hotel that needs improvements. No hot water for starters. A very small TV. Terrible interface. No in room information. Breakfast was good. Tax exempt form sent months earlier was not applied. Still waiting on a credit and on 3 receipts.

There was mold in our room. Water damage throughout our bathroom. The plumbing in the bathroom barely worked. The hotel doesn't appear to have been updated since the 90s. These issues weren't specific to our room as the same issues were in the other two rooms my family was in.

Very nice facility. Great sleeping accommodations and event location. Very competent and professional staff for both hotel and event areas.

Facility was adequate - generally dated, like a visit to the early 1980s. Deferred maintenance and lack of updating add up over time. We stayed a couple weeknights, almost no other guests, staff were few & unenthusiastic so place was very quiet. Pool was nice, well maintained. Nothing terrible, nothing memorable. For the price, not the experience we get at a typical Marriott or Hilton property.
