Lage sehr zentral. Sehr Gutes Preis-Leistungs-Verhältnis. Mitarbeiter sehr freundlich. Zimmer groß, ruhig und sauber mit allem was man braucht. Frühstück für den Preis wirklich gut und vielfältig. Insgesamt sicher eine Empfehlung.
This was a real surprise, we booked last minute a good price. The staff were 1st class smiley and efficient. The room modern and clean. The breakfast was outstanding. Plenty of vegetarian choices but ham on the bone and whole salmon for the meat eaters. We got a tram from the station which took 5 minutes.
I spent the weekend from May 6 till 8 in this hotel. I based my choice on the reviews concerning the quality of the beds and the location in Mannheim. The hotel is not the newest but it's well maintained and the rooms are clean. Minus is that there is no vault nor a a fridge in the room. The garage is spacious.

War sehr zufrieden und kann es nur empfehlen falls ihr in Mannheim City eine Übernachtung benötigt. Zum Zentrum sind es nur 10 Fussminuten. Tolles Personal und Service. Zudem hat man sehr gute Parkmöglichkeit.

First off, understand that Ludwigshafen is not a happening place. I was here for business, for which I feel the place would be adequate for a day or two stay, but not the week I was here. I titled this as ”try hard”, as that's what I hear my kids call someone who is tries hard and fails, which I feel fits since the hotel tries really hard to be modern and hip. Moxy is Marriot's new brand aimed at the youth and the copies board games, lockers, random graffiti and whatnot scattered around the lobby would imply they are going that way. Considering most of the time it was filled with old businessmen like me would say they might want to consider having this in a more appropriate location. Moxy Lu is a very spartan hotel. No restaurant to speak of - on Sunday I asked if they had any lunch offerings as nothing is around there and they told me their one and only oven, used to cook breakfast, was broken and wouldn't be working for at least a few hours. There is a very solid Italian restaurant next door but you don't want to eat that every day. There's also right now a Christmas market nearby but the opening timing for it is very variable. It's also next to the Rhine mall but understand that German business hours are earlier than American so it closes early and is closed entirely on Sunday. Rooms are clearly advertised as capsule types and they are very reminiscent of Japanese capsule rooms - a bed, bathroom, a chair, and that's it. A hook on the wall and 4 hangers is all your clothes storage, a 6 inch wide, 2 foot long glass panel sticking out from the wall is your ”desk”, and that's it. No safe, no shelves, no coffee machine, nothing. Definitely not where I wanted to spend a week, but that's not their fault. The hotel is very new and is very clean overall. Also a plus that it is very quiet. I've been in hotels where I could literally hear the person walking around next door. All that said, why 3 stars? Well, as clean as it was, there was a long black hair at eye level in the shower when I first stepped in. As I'm folically challenged, I'm certain it wasn't mine. Secondly, one of the elevators broke multiple times while I was there, once trapping a person in there for 15 minutes while I was in the lobby. He eventually tumbled out, angry, scared, and half-clothed (took off some clothes as he was feeling very hot). Said elevator was not flagged as being out of order for at least an hour after as I was in and out. Eventually it was. It had an out of order sign still on it on my second day despite being in use...assumed this was an error before the guy got caught in front of me. Not good management of an issue, I feel.
Das Hotel ist sehr abgewohnt und dreckig. Die Teppichböden sind verfleckt und stark verschmutzt. Der Zimmerservice ist total überfordert, sprciht kein Deutsch und muss seine Kinder zur Arbeit mitbringen, da wohl keine andere Betreuung möglich ist. Wir waren drei Nächte dort und hatten an keinem Tag einen Zimmerservice, außer am letzten Tag zwei Stunden bevor wir das Zimmer geräumt haben. Die Mitarbeiter sind überwiegend sehr unfreundlich und raunzig, wenn man Fragen stellt und nicht gleich alle Dinge z.B. beim Frühstück findet oder die Funktion aller Macshinen gleich versteht. Wir hatten Probleme am späten Abend mit dem Code die Eingangstür zu öffenen. Nachdem nicht nur wir, sondern auch drei weitere Familien keinen Zugang hinbekamen, haben wir die ausgehängte Notfallnummer gewählt, um dann sofort angeraunzt zu werden, dass wir ja wohl zu blöd seien und unsere Kinder nicht an die Technik lassen dürften. Problem war, dass wir wohl nicht alle Tasten mit dem gelichen Druck ausgewählt hatten und das System dann erstmnal eine Weile Pause macht und dies durch ein kleines rotes Licht anzeigt, was wir wohl nicht gesehen bzw. verstanden haben. Das Frühstück ist für den Preis von € 10,50 grenzwertig. Die Behauptung, dass hier 90% Bioware angeboten wird ist vermessen bzw. in keinen Weise erkennbar und nachvollziehbar. Das Hotel ist eigentlich nur eine bessere Jugendherberge und absolut unpersönlich, uninteressiert und ignorant. Aber vielleicht muss das so sein, um die aufgerufenen Preis ehalten zu können.
The staff here was very welcoming and kind throughout the stay. We arrived very early and were very tired and they worked hard to get us in our room as soon as they could. Our room was great, very large by European standards. We had a full kitchen as well which was unexpected. Nice soaking tub, blackout curtains, good linens, etc. It is a skip to the train station and convenient to stores and restaurants. HIGHLY recommend the food in general, breakfast was amazing. Dinner was even better, the menu does not do it justice. We order pasta and it was presented tableside in a huge parmesan wheel!! I forgot the great cocktails. I would go back in heartbeat, very cool decor and vibe all around.

Having made reservations for a suite at the Leonardo Hotel Mannheim City Center for our stay from April 5th to April 7th, 2024, we were looking forward to a serene weekend break. Our booking was made on January 5th, 2024, ensuring that we planned well in advance for what was supposed to be a relaxing retreat. Imagine our astonishment when, merely a week before our arrival, we were bluntly notified that no rooms were available. This abrupt notice came as a complete surprise, especially considering our early reservation and the clear communications we had with the hotel subsequently. The hotel's sheer lack of initiative in offering us any alternative or solution was thoroughly disheartening. Our booking was summarily cancelled just days ahead of our intended visit, without any prior consultation or effort to accommodate us in any way. Though they stated there would be no extra charges due to the cancellation, this scant consolation does nothing to alleviate the profound inconvenience and utter lack of professionalism we encountered. I am profoundly disappointed by this experience. The absence of service was not just poor; it was completely lacking. This incident has entirely deterred me from considering a future stay at the Leonardo Hotel Mannheim City Center, and I strongly advise potential guests to reconsider their options. The failure to demonstrate any form of empathy, understanding, or competence in customer service throughout this ordeal was not just surprising; it was unacceptable. Sadly, it is clear that this establishment does not value its guests or their experiences.
