Many negative comments about Mamula Island Resort come from people who have never actually visited, judging it solely by its past as a prison. In reality, the resort does not overlook this history. It’s respectfully remembered through a dedicated museum and open days that invite reflection. From the moment we arrived, the staff were exceptional: warm yet impeccably professional, making us feel genuinely cared for. They went above and beyond, helping us organise private events and seamlessly planning our entire holiday. I have never felt so well looked after in any other 5-star hotel. The design is breathtaking, with rooms that are both elegant and comfortable, offering stunning views in every direction. The food was consistently excellent, and the wine list well curated, with something to suit every palate. Mamula is a rare combination of beauty, history, and hospitality, an experience I would recommend without hesitation.

Mamula is a beautiful resort and the room was exceptional. The food was average and the service incredibly slow. However, what was most distressing is there was a hawk in a cage that was chained up and in a very small cage. The legal requirements were not met and the bird was without food and water for days. I have made a formal complaint, but did not hear back from them. They pride themselves on being eco-friendly - I would hope this would also mean that they treat the environment and live animals with respect and kindness.

I organized a lunch and spa day at Mamula in July 2025 as a surprise for my parents, and they were absolutely amazed! A special thank you to Milena, who arranged everything perfectly — from the welcoming experience to the thoughtful private boat pickup directly to the property. That extra touch made it truly special. There was a small issue with the champagne glasses being corked, but the waiter responded immediately and brought them two fresh, perfectly served glasses each. That’s what I call great service! The lunch, especially the fish of the day, was delicious, and the service throughout was attentive and professional. The massage was also top-notch, and the entire team was friendly, smiling, and happy to help. According to my parents — who are quite discerning — Mamula is an absolute must-do when in Kotor if you look for luxury service in an amazing place. Thank you again for making their anniversary so memorable!

This place is truly out of this world. I found myself savoring every moment, hoping to take home even a bit of the hotel’s magic. The views of the bay are absolutely spectacular, and the thoughtful remodeling of this historic fortress highlights and embraces the natural beauty all around. Personally, I consider this one of the most beautiful places to stay for an authentic and unforgettable vacation. If you’re seeking a peaceful getaway, this establishment is a perfect 10

Little paradise in Adriatic! Everything in this Boutique Hotel is beautiful and every detail is very carefully thought of- extremely immaculate to a very hight standards !!! Muchamed, Anastasia, Stephan and Rodmila mad our experience very VIP so so so special! We can not wait to come back! Looking forward to seeing you all next year. 10 out of 10 !!! Island was not an accessible for public visitors and it was not easy to figure out. No information available on internet or travel agencies….hotel on the island did not pick up the phone regularly…it was very disappointing and took almost three days to find some information
