The Vega is advertised as a five star hotel - and it's not what we would understand as five stars in the UK. The room was okay...a bit small...a bit like a Premier Inn type room. But perfectly clean. Staff very helpful and service was good. The breakfast was adequate, though not many options for vegetarians and it was the same every day, so got a little boring. It was okay, but we expected a little more.

Fantastic seaside hotel. Rooms are a little dated but the beach access is great.

Nice hotel

Recht altes Gebäude direkt am Strand, nicht allzu groß. Zimmer innen neu gemacht und auf der Höhe der Zeit. Anlage selbst wenig spektakulär, aber nur wenige Minuten zum Wasser. In der Gegend ist nicht viel, man kann aber überall gut hinlaufen. Frühstück ok, Personal freundlich.

Not a 5* hotel. Sorry. Not good enough for the huge price we paid. Disappointing. The room was dirty, the carpet in the room was dirty, the carpet in the hallway was dirty, the bathroom was very outdated, the furniture in the room was very outdated, not enough room to put our clothes in the cupboard, the room was so small! The tv was broken (we had someone from reception ‘visiting’ us in the room 3 evenings in a row to try and fix the tv! The shower was terrible - we had to really be careful not to slip as it had a funny shape and you had to really watch your feet - and my husband hit his head on the shower door at the top (yes-it is so old that it has a bar at the top of the shower). So basically you had to look down at your feet so that you did not slip - and instead you would hit your head on that stupid bar at the top…!! For goodness sake … 2022 … 5* hotel??!!! The staff were lovely though- at breakfast/lunch - my two stars here are for for the staff. But the actual hotel - very disappointing. We will not return.

This was our 4th time at Vega. We’ve been as a couple a couple of times, with my mother in law, and this time with the kids. The first thing to say is that staying in Vega is just that - its all about the private beach and the pool - of you stroll out into Mamaia you find a slightly run down seaside resort that needs some investment. The beach at Vega is lovely, slightly pebbly but nice. The sea is a long way from the hotel as they have extended the beach since we first stayed here but its still nice. Drinks service at your sun loungers is excellent. The beach can be quite windy but I like that in 35 degree heat! The pool is very deep and very nice, no problem getting sun loungers, and the pool side service of drinks and food is excellent. Breakfast and lunch is included in the room rate and is a hotel buffet which is average but enjoyable. The thing that makes the hotel is the staff - they are amazing. Reception, restaurant, and beach staff are really attentive and very friendly, you really feel at home here. The one downside, and why it doesn’t get 5 stars, is that the bedrooms are a little tired. We have stayed in suites and the standard premium rooms and they are all clean and nice but feel like they were last refurbished in the 90s. I can’t comment on dinner as we always get a cab to Constanta to eat out (20 mins taxi). Overall, we enjoy Vega and will keep coming back for the lovely setting and the amazing staff.
