"At $ 800 per night, this has to be a special treat. And, I'm happy to report, it is. Spicers have got the concepts of luxury, relaxation and pampering down to a fine art. No detail is overlooked and it all happens in a non-pompous, casual manner. We stayed in Luxury Forest Villa #13, which is the furthest from reception and restaurant ; total peace and quiet, but still an easy stroll for a meal. It is a small house, with everything that you could possibly need, and of the best quality. The bed is divinely comfortable, the bath with amenities opulent. Late afternoon we were invited for some complimentary dumplings in the restaurant : 2 per person and you buy your own drinks. The grounds are well maintained, but have kept their-foresty look ; there is a 15 minute walk to "the falls", a small natural pool with waterfall (which was hardly running because of the lack of rain). You can choose to have your breakfast in the room or in the restaurant, and we decided for the latter. There is a complimentary continental (banana bread, small yoghurt and fruit) and you choose 1 main. Although delicious, I thought it was a fairly small offering and I could have done with a little more. Spicers is the perfect place to forget about problems and stress ; unwind and re-load the batteries. A very special treat."

"Fantastic cottage, Tallowood! All we needed for a relaxing 3 day break away for Christmas. Angela and Glenn were great at communicating with us about check in and check out. It was great to sit on the deck and be serenaded by the cicadas and frogs but not hear a single car, in fact the cottage was so private you really didn't know there were other people around, well apart from the distant Hee-Haw of some hungry donkeys, but a few carrots soon settled them !! The kitchen and BBQ can cater for most family cooks,cordon bleu dining is mostly out of the question, but stock up at the Maleny Butcher, and your sorted."

"We are frequent flyers to the Blue Summit Cottages, they have become our favourite way to unwind and decompress from our busy lives. We stock up on yummy food, a bottle or two of nice wine and plenty of bath salts for the spa and then let the rest of the world disappear for the weekend. Situated only ten minutes down the road from Melaney, a gorgeous little village which despite its size has a huge selection of restaurants, cafes and shopping. But if you don’t want to go out, the cottages have everything you need to stay in. We have always stayed in Black Cockatoo which has super comfortable king sized bed, fully equipped kitchen with the little things you need (cooking oil, kitchen towel etc) and a comfy lounge to watch Netflix on the telly while sitting beside the gas fire. Or our personal favourite: relax in the spa. The deck is a standout feature, private with incredible views and a little Weber BabyQ perfect for two people. We’ve been to Blue Summit Cottages in different seasons with very different weather and we’ve loved every visit. The cottages have been cleverly built so that all four have easy access via a path from the covered parking area but once you’ve inside, even from the deck, you have perfect privacy."

"A hideaway paradise awaits you at Yabbaloumba Retreat. 4 private cabins overlooking the dam just 10 minutes out of Kenilworth away from every thing. Barb & Lloyd are great hosts they have taken time to make sure your stay is memorable with very well equipped cabins including an inside spa bath overlooking the property, gas fire, kitchen & a King size bed. You would be crazy not to give this place a go."
