"I had a problem with dozens of bugs, mosquitos, flies, even a big sicada in my room. My rate was excellent, 35 dollars a night, and I would have stayed there if it had not been for the insects. Everything else in the room worked perfectly fine and the staff was helpful and they have 24 hour security. Unfortunately, due to the bugs, I had to move to a different hotel in Maun."

"This was a great hotel with beautiful views and comfortable beds. The shower was also very nice. The airco in the room was quite outdated and I had trouble turning it on. When it was eventually on it made a lot of noise and didn’t really give much effect it was still very hot throughout the night. Breakfast and dinner buffets were great, very varied and good food. The swimming pool was empty which was a shame because it was 32 degrees when we were there so a swim would have been nice. On our last night there was a puff adder on the steps on the way to some of the rooms. This is a highly venomous, deadly snake. Hotel staff weren’t too fased about it when we told them it was there. They just responded with “we know”. Eventually our tour guide ended up moving it because it was blocking the way to many rooms. Somewhere I expected staff to handle this a bit more professionally."

"We stumbled upon this accommodation on the fly, having cancelled the one we'd booked two months prior (Jayla Homestay) due to its extremely poor quality and the fact that they couldn't provide a room that matched our reservation. This attractive complex is located at the entrance to the city and is a large property with over 50 rooms, gardens, security, common areas, a restaurant, and all the amenities you'd expect from a large, relatively modern lodge. At reception (the staff were friendly, but despite the lodge's name, they couldn't provide us with the information we needed to book a mokoro game drive for the following day), we were assigned a sort of studio near reception. It was quite spacious, with a large bed (two pushed together) with good mattresses and sheets, nice wooden furniture (open wardrobe, armchairs, desk, etc.), air conditioning, TV, safe, tiled floor, and a kitchenette with a microwave, kettle, and refrigerator. Everything was quite clean and well-maintained, with understated decor. The bathroom, though basic, was a decent size with a sink and mirror, toilet, and a glass-enclosed shower stall (the water was good and the towels were adequate). The price was 850 pula (about €55 by card), with breakfast available for an additional 150 pula per person. Considering it was an emergency and we booked it on the spur of the moment, it wasn't bad at all."
