馬爾代夫自由旅館(Liberty Guesthouse Maldives)

Staying at Liberty Guesthouse was great. As a solo female traveller, I felt safe there, the staff was lovely, very helpful and accommodating. I took a fullboard option. The food was delicious, tasty local dishes. The surrounding is wonderful. The beach is at your doorstep. You can swim and snorkel and see so many fishes and corals. As other reviews mentioned, there's some smoke sometimes coming from a garbage disposal place nearby where they burn the rubbish, but that didn't bother me, just a little smoke while you can enjoy the paradise and the local maldivian way of life at such a small price comparing to expensive resorts.

Вкусно и недорого кормят! Завтраки-обеды и ужины так-же на высшем уровне!

For many years the Liberty Guest House was our preferred holiday destination until Covid put a stop to it. Finally we could return in November 2023 and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. Coming from Europe, you feel projected into a life of silence, contemplation, simplicity, peace for body and soul. Doing nothing, just observing the sea, the clouds, trees, the sun and the wind. Food is simple, tasty, good for the body. Diving easy and well organized. Zala’s team is the best: smiling, ready to help. Like any local Maldivian island, Mahibadhoo may surprise in many ways. Visitors from abroad discover habits like rubbish being burnt on the island, unthinkable in Europe. Over time things will improve, we noticed that the site is better organized, the waste sorted by type etc. and the young generation is more aware of environmental issues. Snorkelling in the lagoon next to the Guest House is an adventure each time. Corals have grown and we were amazed to discover the multitude of fish and even nudibranch, if you are lucky a shark, turtle of stingray may cross your path. We are grateful to all those who served and looked after us, thank you and hope to see you again soon.

Very bad! Next to a scrap and garbage incinerator (see photos). Black smog stinks every day. The beach partially littered. Please book half board immediately, because the a la carte menu is very bad. The portions are exaggeratedly small: only 50 grams of fish and 500 grams of rice!!! Cockroaches next to the kitchen and my room (number 1)! The team is not really nice, sometimes even arrogant. They just want to make money from tourists. You are approached every day because the excursions want to sell. The island is not beautiful. The apar**ent is only suitable for one night in transit (for transfer by ferry to another island). Never longer! I really do not recommend this guest house! Neben einem Schrott- und Müll-Verbrennungsplatz (siehe Fotos). Schwarzer Smog stinkt jeden Tag. Der Strand teilweise vermüllt. Bitte sofort das Halbpension buchen, denn das Menü a la Cart ist sehr schlecht. Die Portionen sind übertrieben klein: nur 50 gr Fisch und 500 gr Reis!!! Kakerlaken neben der Küche und meinem Zimmer (Zim.Nr.1)! Das Team ist nicht wirklich nett, teilweise sogar arrogant. Sie wollen nur um jeden Preis Geld mit Touristen verdienen. Man wird deswegen jeden Tag angesprochen, weil die Ausflüge verkaufen wollen. Die Insel ist nicht schön. Das Appartement ist nur für eine Nacht während einer Durchreise geeignet (zwecks Transfer mit einer Fähre zu einer anderen Insel). Niemals länger! Ich empfehle dieses Appartement wirklich nicht weiter! Obok spalarnia złomu i śmieci (patrz foto). Czarny dym cuchnie codziennie. Plaża częściowo zaśmiecona. Prosze rezerwowac od razu kolacje w cenie (half pension), ponieważ menu a la carte jest bardzo złe. Porcje są przesadnie małe: tylko 50 gramów ryby i 500 gramów ryżu! ! ! Karaluchy obok kuchni i mojego pokoju (pokój nr 1)! Zespół nie jest zbyt miły, czasem nawet arogancki. Chcą po prostu zarobić na turystach za wszelką cenę. Zagaduja ciebie codziennie, ponieważ chcą sprzedać wycieczki. Wyspa nie jest ladna. Apartament nadaje się tylko na jedną noc tranzytową (na transfer promem na inną wyspę). Nigdy na dłużej! Naprawdę nie polecam tego apartamentu!

Absolutely fantastic. Very well managed indeed. I was picked up from the ferry terminal and upon arrival given a glass of orange juice. The WiFi worked fine, the beach was a few metres from my room which had a beach view, and was overall, comfortable for the price paid. The AC worked, the shower always had hot water and a beach towel (along with the standard) was provided. All staff were friendly and helpful and the included breakfast was nice. The food menu was a great bonus given its range of reasonably priced options. This booking exceeded my expectations, and as such I would recommend and I hope to return again myself.

When we showed up the lodge was over booked and we were forced to stay at another guest house that was not beach front. (That place was ok, but the towels smelled Very strong of mildew and were white with brown stains, and there were ants and roaches in the room) They only have two boats and when we were there they were trying to accommodate 6 different families excursions. We booked an all day whale shark tour and the first time they took us out, after shuttling multiple other families around we only got an hour at the actual whale shark spot. We were VERY upset so they did let us go again the next day and it was better - but still not a full day, and we didn’t see whale sharks either day. The staff was very friendly and the dive guide was great. That said- they are not at all clear on payments and although we paid a little less than we were quoted originally we did not do all the dives we had booked so we don’t think we actually got a discount for the lodging change. The three families we checked in with all had payment issues, so it wasn’t just us. The beach out front of the lodge did not allow bikinis so you had to walk across the island to a designated beach - and that beach had very little sand and mostly coral. It was very small with only a few chairs for all guest of the whole island. There were no drinks available other than water and the food was rice, noodles, and either chicken or fish for every lunch and dinner. Breakfast was one type of cooked eggs, toast and instant coffee each day. I would not recommend this lodge.

Our stay at Liberty guest House has been a wonderful experience .The manager Zala and rest of all staff has been very professional and made sure all our needs were met and our stay is comfortable.They made sure we enjoy all our excursions and assisted us for all activities personally.Even the food was prepared according to our taste and likes.Zala was like a 'Friend in Maldives' to us, who helped us to plan and execute the trip.Location of the guesthouse is very good,right on the beach.

Perfect week in Liberty :-) despite Corona and restrictions I found a perfect week for a remarable stay on Mahibadhoo. A calm see with crystal clear water at the doorstep; friendly and great team with a premium service incl fresh, local cuisine prepared á la minute, water activities tailor-made to situation with all gear you need and relaxed fun and humor.. just perfect!

And the room was very nice and facing the beach. I was impressed they were managed to arrange a sea view room for me. Other than that they got many activities with them. I did snorkeling, Night time dive and fishing etc. I met local people also they were very friendly"
