* Bedroom 1- Master- Guaranteed most comfortable bed in Franklin! Prana Sleep King bed.
* Bedroom 2- Single beds
* Extensive DVD Library & Board Games
* DISH Network Satellite TV
* WiFi throughout
* Central AC & Heating
* On a quiet mountain close to Main Street, Shops, Breweries, & Grocery
* Just 8 min to the base of Highlands Mtn!
* BBQ Grill
* DOWNSTAIRS OPTIONAL ADD ON- Downstairs room available to rent ONLY as an add-on to existing reservation making the total 3 bedroom 3 bath. Optional downstairs room includes a King Bed & 1 set of Bunk Beds.
* COVID 19 Update * We take your health and safety seriously. We now add a 48 hour block to the front and back of every stay to allow time for the property to be thoroughly cleaned and sanitized by our cleaning crew.

We stayed four weeks in July/Aug 2025 and enjoyed it immensely. Morning coffee on the porch watching the birds and enjoying the view. When family visited, there was so much to do that we stayed busy every day. Tubing, white water rafting, hiking, visiting waterfalls, shopping and just sitting on the porch. House has everything you need and the neighbors are friendly. Great stores and restaurants close by. We have already booked for next year.

Always enjoy staying here.
This is the 4th time (I think) that we've chosen to stay here, because of the great location near town, while still being out in a woodsy area. Very comfortable inside and well equipped with the necessities.

Mountain Getaway
Easy to get to, clean and comfortable. Needs just a little more care to Older adults in the bath room with hand rails by the shower and toilet.

Great place to decompress
The place is well kept. It has everything you need while away from home. The kitchen is equipped with everything need to prepare any meal. We had excellent communication both before and during our stay with Jenna. Great view off of the completely screened front porch. Overall, our stay was excellent, if we find ourselves back in the Franklin area, we will stay again.

Great Holiday Stay at the Bear Den
This was our 2nd stay at the Bear Den. The house is cozy and very well appointed. The beds are the most comfortable we have ever slept on. The stay was a little to cool for much time on the porch, but we certainly enjoyed the fireplace! Convenient for Polar Express Train, Franklin and Dillaboro.

Anniversary 41 years
Awesome! Perfect location several towns within driving distance. We went to the pumpkin roll festival in Franklin and the next day we went to a festival in Maggie valley. We visited Highlands, cashiers, Sylva, Waynesville and Maggie valley. The Bear den has the perfect view. So relaxing to sit on the porch in a rocking chair and enjoy the view. It never gets old. We would definitely go back and we highly recommend this place.
