My husband and I stayed here for one night last night. We have to say that is was an awesome beautiful stay. The hotel is just beautiful. Our room was spotless and an extremely cosy bed, with very chic decor. (Room 10)Loved it. The staff are very polite and profressional in every way, very attentive. I must mention the Supervisor 'Dan' who I feel went above and beyond to ensure that our meal in the restaurant went well which it did. The food was outstanding. The Blade of Beef Cottage pie was exceptionally good. Dan was very aware of everyone in the restaurant, and even made time to engage in conversation with us but without being intrusive. He is a credit to the hotel. He clearly enjoys his job too which is obvious to one and all. All the staff were lovely. I cannot recommend this hotel and staff enough. It truely is a gem of a hotel. The Stay and Dine with Us Offer was just perfext See you all again soon. Oh yes. The cocktails were rather good too!!!

I can not fault this beautiful boutique hotel, the staff are incredible, the food is amazing and the interior design warm and homely with a dash of elegance. The team are so helpful and will arrange the countless activities that can be found on the doorstep of the hotel including a rib to the se the needles around the Isle of White to foraging the new forest. The beds are super comfy with the most softest pillows, each room individually styled with amazing showers and stan alone baths. Can't wait to return.

From the moment we were checked in by Phoebe and Joseph we felt thoroughly spoilt throughout our 2 nights stay. The breakfast was generous and delicious (superb poached eggs and cappuccinos!) and the restaurant is a destination in itself. If you wanted more casual dining for your 2nd night, do try the friendly Fisherman's Rest (20 min walk away) - superb choice and also very delicious! Stanwell's bar and garden provide the perfect settings for teas, and/or cocktails. We've previously stayed at The Pig, Brockenhurst and I have to say we enjoyed our experience more at Stanwell House.

Very good hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Extremely comfortable beds. Super fabrics and decor. Nice old features with modern comforts. Room was very clean. Tea and coffee provided in room. Fresh milk outside your bedroom door each morning on request. Good bathroom. Good location for shops, harbour. Food including breakfast was good. We had a little noise - I think we were over the kitchen but no noise in the night. Car park is over the road and the hotel has up and down stairs and no lift. Would not recommend upstairs rooms if you have bad mobility, otherwise we do recommend. Would happily stay there again. Thank you Stanwell House.

Congratulations to Stanwell House on their first Wine Dinner since the hotel’s refurbishment. It was wonderful evening of quality food/service and expert advice from Gusbourne Wine Ambassador Steve Kirkham. The fish course felt like it would test my boundaries! My only previous experience of cockles has been of an intense vinegar and gritty morsels served in a paper cup at the beach. However, The Turbot, squid ink linguine and cockle cream dish was absolutely delicious. Looking forward to seeing which wine is featured next.

Centrally located on the High street, near the Quay, Saturday market and coffee shops), with a small private car park about 100m away. The orangery (great breakfasts), dining room (huge bowl of mussels), bar (negronis to die for) and garden are very comfortable. Our double-bedded room overlooked the garden. Good to have remote controlled air-con. Fresh milk is delivered to the room in the early morning instead of the usual fiddly little tubs. All staff were very friendly and efficient and they particularly made the stay a delight.
