We purchased a National Park pass earlier this year visiting Utah and Shenandoah National Park was the closest to us. We spent a while trying to find a place to stay. We are typically Hotel stayers preferring the anonymity. However, first and foremost we hold cleanliness at the top of the list. We had a lot of trouble finding a place with clean reviews until we got to the MayneView B&B. We stayed in the smaller Hawksbill Room and it was enough for us. It had a beautiful view of the mountains. MayneView B&B was close enough that we were able to spend a few days and do several hiking trips, visit a few of the mead & wine distilleries, see a movie, browse the town, see the Caverns and eat all over. Gail who was the watching over the B&B while the owners were away was an amazing hostess. She was a chef so her breakfasts in the morning were something we looked forward too especially for doing all the hikes that we did. She gave us great recommendations for food, hikes and places to see. While we know she may not be there the next time, we enjoyed the MayneView B&B enough that if we want to do more of the hikes that we missed out on in Shenandoah, we'd definitely stay there again.

We had an absolutely amazing stay at the MayneView B&B! It is such a beautiful property - such a beautiful home and beautiful grounds surrounding with plenty of places to sit outdoors and enjoy the fresh air. When we arrived, we were greeted by Gregory, the exceptional innkeeper at the MayneView. The hospitality was unmatched - from upgrading our room to one with a better view, to the treats left outside our door at night by surprise (freshly hand-dripped chocolate-covered strawberries, a fresh blueberry cake), to the amazing breakfast service. On that note, the food was all exceptional - a nice blend of sweet and savory each day. There are numerous zones in the home to hang out in and read, watch TV, work, or enjoy nature, including a hot tub! We cannot recommend the MayneView enough, in no small part due to Gregory and his hospitality!

We were looking for a close-by place to D.C. to celebrate a milestone anniversary. Mayneview was a great choice. Greg and Bryce were helpful and friendly without being overbearing. We were in a small suite that had all we needed. Lots to do in the area.

Wonderful hosts, comfortable home, and fantastic food. Mayneview was excellent and we couldn't have asked for a better way to spend our vacation in Luray! Gregory was so friendly and welcoming. He was very knowledgeable about the area with good advise on activities and places to eat. He was always working around the grounds and home. You can tell this place is run with love and care. We'll definitely be returning!

We had a great stay in Luray, VA, starting with this wonderful bed and breakfast. It was clean, inviting, with many upgrades while still respecting the original character of the house and property. Ownership and management were accommodating and friendly. Views were outstanding from this property on a hill. Simply said, we will stay here again. Thank you, Bryce and Gregory!

Mayneview or rather Hugh, the Keeper of the BNB there, really MADE our TOTAL experience of Luray, VA! Hugh is Mayneview and he was completely sensitive and anticipating our every need. We stayed in the Overlook Room and were told it has the best views in the house. It was beautiful. The bed was very comfortable for me but my partners side of the bed was too worn and uncomfortable, and this was not mentioned to me until we left the BNB. I am sure that if we mentioned this to them, Hugh would have had a new mattress on our bed immediately. We arrived late and they were very accommodating to the situation (we made plans with them in advance) and were greeted with hot cookies that had so many wonderful tastes to them and there was plenty of hot beverage options available on our floor as well as on first floor dining area 24/7, including ice and a fridge on each floor. We had the place all to ourselves the first night as there was a cancelation for the entire house. That is how we got our pick of rooms! Next 2 nights there were 2 couples and it was very quiet. In literature, it states that it is an old house and you need to be aware and be quiet 10pm and 8 am. Breakfasts kept us going all day as they included fruit, an egg dish, veggies, beverages and all sorts of fresh goodies. Hugh made some great recommendations for day hikes, etc. He even had maps and literature where we discovered many interesting activities. The big draw, of course, is Luray Caverns...not to be missed. BUT, we made Mayneview our "Destination Restoration Vacation" and I highly recommend them for this. You don't have to go anywhere but sit on the porch and rock, eat inside or outside, explore the grounds, hang on the deck or take a hot tub. The rooms are updated with new showers amidst the old world charm. The history associated with this place is fun to reside in and marvel at the beauty of the well-appointed rooms, lavish luxurious Victorian period furnishings and paintings, etc. Love this place that encourages lazing and gazing!
