We arrived at Hotel Laurence at 5 pm. We read that we were to let ourselves into the hotel by key entry. The hotel sits on west main and our room #12 faces a fairly busy street where trucks rumble by with loud mufflers. The hotel entry hall is quiet, well appointed but with no welcoming signs of any sort. The staff stays until 2 pm. There was a strong odor of insecticide in the hall and our room. The room is spacious but there are no surfaces in the bathroom to place toiletries. The bed is very firm. The toilet seat will not stay up and has to be held. Thermostat temperature control in our room was very good. Noises from the street are very prominent and ear plugs are a necessity. A night light would have been nice.

I planned a fun girls trip to see the Luray Caverns in VA and stayed at Hotel Laurance. We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite with a stunning kitchen! This was the perfect hotel for our trip! The hotel was so charming and welcoming I would definitely stay there again!

This was probably the most relax I’ve ever been at a hotel. The staff was very friendly and super accommodating. The rooms were decorated gorgeously, (I’m definitely going to take some decor tips from them in my actual home). Considering reserving for my wedding next year!

For our visit to the Shenandoah Valley, for hiking and other activities, we decided to not stay in a cabin or something rustic like we typically do in Maine and other places. This was our first time visiting Luray and I was so grateful we found and booked Hotel Laurance! The property is beautiful and super clean. There is free parking and a strong WiFi signal. Our room was spacious, comfortable, and ready with everything we needed for a 5 night stay - full kitchen with dishware/cutlery, an easy to use TV, a large, walk-in shower, and plenty of bathroom towels. The windows are big, the space has high ceilings and the rooms are bright and airy. It felt like a posh downtown apartment in a major city - not a standard hotel. They play relaxing music on the lobby level during the day, which I thought was a nice touch. The keypad lock system on the main entry doors and your room is so easy - no need to worry about carrying hotel key cards! There was a basket with water and snacks in the kitchen and complimentary soaps and shampoo/conditioner in the shower. It was quiet at night (noisy pickup trucks on the street notwithstanding, the hotel can't control that) and the mattress was comfortable. All windows have miniblinds for privacy. We never once took the car to a restaurant or coffee shop/cafe on Main Street - all are walkable from Hotel Laurance. Check out the Hawksbill Greenway, a walking path along the Hawksbill Creek right near the hotel. There is also a very old and revered oak tree up the street from the hotel off S. Court St. Check Google maps and go see it, it's very cool. The pillows were a little bulky to sleep on, but that was the only thing I'd change. Everything else about our stay at this hotel was perfect! I would stay here again in a heartbeat. Thank you for making our stay in Luray so nice ❤️

Wonderful accommodations with a friendly and helpful staff. The hotel was located in a place with easy access to all the sites we wanted to see. The room was clean, comfortable and charming. It was located perfectly for what we wanted. It was quiet and peaceful

After the recent hurricane prevented us from reaching our Airbnb, we were fortunate to discover this delightful hotel nearby. The manager was incredibly accommodating, especially considering we made our reservation late at night. Even though she was already home, she promptly returned to help us, which we truly appreciated. Our room was warm and inviting, featuring an exceptionally comfortable bed. We also loved the thoughtful touches, like the coffee, water, and snacks provided—perfect for late-night cravings when most places were closed. We’ll definitely be returning and can’t wait to share this gem with all our traveling friends!
