皇家飯店(The Royal Hotel)

Just returned home after a 2 night stay at this beautiful hotel. Booked in online. Friendly welcome on arrival from the lovely, helpful receptionist Annalisa who gave us the key to our stunning room with fantastic views. Ate at the hotel the first night as part of the package. Food delicious, freshly cooked & good sized portions. Husband recommends the Sea Bass & I the Fish pie 😋 Beds very comfortable, slept great. Shower huge, powerful & easy to control. Good choice of breakfast options. Overall a great hotel, perfect location, friendly helpful staff & delicious food. Will definitely return 👍

Wonderful Place Just a bit noisy as the sealings are in wood and you can hear steps from above

Lovely comfortable hotel in centre of Kirkby with friendly helpful staff and lovely food and lounge areas.

We stayed at Absoluxe Suites which included breakfast at The Royal Hotel. Efficient service and amazing breakfast, me and my husband both enjoyed a Full Cumbrian Breakfast. Couldn’t fault it! We noticed throughout our staycation that The Royal Hotel was very popular and busy during all meal times. Lovely surroundings and traditional characteristics. Highly recommend

A perfect night away, we booked a special offer DB&B wow we had a lovely spacious room, the bed and pillows were so comfortable. The dinner choice was amazing on the set menu and for a small supplement you could have whatever you wanted. The food was fantastic we had mussels, pate, pizza and sea bass all cooked perfectly. The pizza was just like we get in Italy 🇮🇹 The staff we all very friendly service was super efficient absolutely 10/10 we will be back 😊

Nice enough, but the rooms are very old fashioned. Breakfast took 50 minutes to arrive. Rather than full English asked for sausage, bacon, beans and hash brown. 1 small sausage, 1 piece of bacon, 1 hash brown and the smallest poor of beans you could imagine. Asked for toast, didn't get any. Wife got the vegi breakfast, was ok, but again no toast.

Horrible meal, very slow service. Sat down at 2:40 and didn’t get out mains until 4. They forgot our side orders but didn’t forget to try and charge for them. Asked us if we wanted sauces with our meals. My husband asked for apple sauce with his Sunday dinner. It never appeared. I had the risotto which was inedible. Did raise it with the bar staff on paying but got a ‘sorry’ and a shrug. Disappointing

Overall a great stay but could of been made better as the whole building was quite cool, the open fire in the snug was not lit even though it was just over zero outside. The duty manage (I think) seemed to be more concerned that he should of been on his break and that there was only 3 on duty instead of 4 when answering our queries at check in. Once we had put our thermals on and checked in it was a great little find 😊. Fantastic food abs serves for dinner 😊
