I have stayed at this property 20 times over the last 3 years and have sadly witnessed this property decline over the years.
On my last visit I checked into the room and immediately dropped the bag and used the restroom after a long travel day. The toilet was broken.
I politely asked the lady at the front desk for another room and she informed me the hotel was oversold by one room, maintenance had left for the day and she 'would quit her job before plunging a toilet.'
She offered me a plunger while grumbling under her breath (not directed at me) her dissatisfaction with her current work environment. I took the plunger back to the room (I remind you - a guest at the hotel with a plunger in hand) and attempted to fix the toilet. I was unsuccessful fixing the toilet.
The next morning I asked to speak to Matthew the GM but was told 'his door is closed.' I gave my contact number and asked for a call. Three days later, two unanswered calls back from Matthew I felt the timing was appropriate for a well deserved negative review.
If I were the GM of this place I would certainly want to know of a situation like this.
For a few dollars more the Best Western Plus across the parking lot is a GREAT alternative. I have also stayed there many times and always had a great experience.
