The hotel was clean and centrally located in Longyearbyen, but it was overpriced. For example, I was proved one bath towel for a two person shower room, no tissues, and the window shade did not close probably (critical in summer). The staff was polite and accommodating (when they were available and at the desk) and the venue was attractive and modern. The breakfast was good.

The location of the hotel is excellent and that’s why 1 star. Everything else was below average. There was a towel in the bathroom and it had a strange smell. The beds were not made, the comforters were rolled and put on the side. The worst thing was that they had the heating on and the rooms get full sun and it was like a Sauna in the room, even with windows open. The lighting was bizarre, I still couldn’t figure out how to turn off the kitchen and bathroom lights. The curtains aren’t meant for summer light so the room is lit bright all night.

This was a nice apartment and the staff (located in the main hotel) were helpful. The location is great. The reason for the 3 stars is the noise at the weekend. I know we were told the bar might be a bit noisy but it's more than that ....at the weekend there was live music and karaoke Friday and Saturday night until 2am....ok but then everyone leaves at the same time and stands under our window shouting until 2:30am. Not possible to sleep. Then the ones who are staying in the lodge come in and bang snow off their shoes it was unbearable. I have two suggestions, the Bar should remind customers that people in the area may be sleeping so they should leave quietly (this happens at many bars around the world)...and there should be a sign in the lodge requesting people don't bang their feet late at night. We slept well on Sunday night and had a lovely time in Svalbard.
