Matig hotel voor de geoffreerde prijs. Piep, piepkleine 'receptie' in dit als hotel met 16 kamers. Er is geen lounge en geen ontbijtruimte. Voor het ontbijt moet je circa 4 'deuren' verder in de straat bij een zusterhotel van de Shaftesbury-keten. Hoewel het geld voor de kamer al van mijn rekening was afgeschreven, moest ik toch nog met de credit card inchecken. Dat ging op de wel heel ouderwetse manier met zo'n schuifapparaatje waar de kaart werd ingelegd, samen met een formuliertje. Op 't formulier moest ik ook nog tekenen. Daarna moest ik nog wel zelf om een kopie/doorslag van 't formuliertje vragen! Nu maar hopen dat er 1 keer geld van m'n rekening wordt afgeschreven! 's Nachts om 00.25 uur ging het (uiteraard keiharde) brandalarm af. Het alarm ging niet lang over. Gelijk uit bed gesprongen en de telefoon gepakt om te vragen 'hoe en wat'. Kreeg geen antwoord. Zelf naar de 'receptie' gegaan om te vragen wat er aan de hand was. "O, er is verder niets aan de hand", zei de receptionist. Ik: "En dat alarm dan?" Hij: "Dat kwam door veel stoom in kamer 12." Ik: "Waarom hebt u mij niet gewaarschuwd met 'sein veilig'." Hij: "Ik dacht dat de mensen wellicht zouden slapen." Ik: "Wat een belachelijke, *****e reactie vind ik dit." Ik verder: "Mijn kamer ligt circa 10 treden bij u vandaan en ik heb ook telefoon op de kamer." "Hebt u de andere gasten ook niet gewaarschuwd? Hij: "sorry, sorry." "Ikverder: "Ik vind deze gang van zaken uitermate slecht." Het zal duidelijk zijn dat ik in dit hotel, en andere hotels van deze keten, nooit en te nimmer meer kom.

We were very disappointed to find that there was no elevator in this hotel. They did help us with our luggage, but after a long day walking up three steep flights of steps to your room is no fun. Also, my room was shabby and dirty. The carpet was stained and worn; there were stains on the throw pillows and sofa; there was garbage in the bin; there was no cover for the batteries on the remote and worse of all there was something that looked like snot on the wall above the headboards. I told the front desk that my room was gross and needed to be thoroughly cleaned, when I came back later that night nothing had been done. Really icky experience.

Had a fantastic weekend away for a wedding. The reviews on here were slightly concerning. But when we arrived we had none of the issues mentioned. You do need to walk a small distance to collect your keys as the hotel is many apartment blocks on the street. Room was clean and spacious. Only two small issues. The shower head is a rainfall type so little awkward if you don't want to get your hair wet. Secondly a few socket switches were loose but pointed these out at checkout and they seemed concerned so hopefully sorted this out. Left our bags at checkout to get more of London and returned hours later to collect them with no issues. Would stay here again.

Don’t stay here. Boobed in May a double versus room advertisement on bookings. Com with photo showing g spacious room with sofa well decorated etc REALITY - the room provided was in basement of sister hotel a few doors down there was no lift I have a knee injury so found the steep narrow staircase a real problem . Room was tiny - bedsheets stained with blood , pillows and bed lumpy, aircon so noisy we needed to stuff the plastic case to stop rattle as couldn’t turn off aircon because it became too stuffy and airless. Peeling wallpaper, cracked sink, dirty carpet, threadbare dirty, holed covers on bed. No consideration by staff who told us it would ok to leave luggage as they would sort us out with a “good room” on check in at 1 pm but when we got back at midnight they quite literally told us take it or leave it and made themselves scarce! TO find a bottle of mulled wine and an offer of free breakfast ( which was already in our package paid for) was just insulting. We didn’t get the room we paid for. Others booked later than us and not through bookings.com were treated far better we found out at breakfast
