瑪貝拉飯店

Terribly unresponsive to a simple request. There was one measly towel in the bathroom so I asked for 2 more. They refused, saying they only provide one towel per room. You would have thought I had asked for another complete room! I had to have my tour guide intercede on my behalf. To top it off, some of the power outlets were non-functional. DO NOT EVER BOOK THIS HOTEL.

Hotel Marbella was a decent option in Lomé. Reception staff were friendly and helpful which I appreciated. The hotel has a nice contemporary vibe. My room was large and clean with a (very) firm bed and an ok aircon. WiFi was a bit up and down. The location is on a very busy road with lots of vendors and small restaurants though none especially catered to tourists for instance. The one downside was breakfast. Tea or coffee (instant unfortunately and no proper coffee), bread and butter, omelette and bissap (hibiscus) juice. That’s it. It also took 35 mins to be served. Next time I’d probably take a wander and get some fresh beignets on the street instead. But some fruit, real fruit juice, maybe some jam or honey…
