Whilst the hotel is generally beautiful and the pool area is lovely, we simply cannot recommend Cap Vermell.
The service was impersonal and lacking generally. You might expect some service around the pool but alas…
When I spoke to reception to complain that our room had not been cleaned one day, the staff member essentially tried to place the blame on me, when in reality they forgot to clean our room.
Our room leaked when there was heavy rain outside. We notified them of this. You might expect an apology when paying this price….but no.
Requests for additional decaf coffee pods were ignored…
The restaurants are at best average and charge Michelin prices (we didn’t go to Voro … which actually has the stars, as it is adults only). The Japanese restaurant was closed (we were not made aware of this on booking).
The kids meals are heavily salted and don’t include any veg (even at EUR14).
The room was generally unclean (the grout is grubby, the edges around the sinks have grime that is not cleaned off).
Despite our issues, we were not asked if we were happy with our stay on check out. Nobody cares.
To top it off, they brought our bags down but left one on the buggy. I didn’t notice as I was strapping my son in his car seat in the car and my husband was settling the final invoice inside. The taxi driver obviously didn’t see this as it was left on the buggy by the hotel staff. I am told it will be posted to me but I will wait to see if that happens.
