Mid Wales Arts B&B

An interesting B&B which is part of an arts centre. The room was very clean and nicely decorated, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. The art work in the house and arts centre makes this an unusual and interesting place to stay.

We were disappointed with our stay unfortunately. Prior to our arrival we rang the host to ask if we could arrive late due to the driving distance for our arrival, the host said we could but informed us that we needed to book directly through her and not through *********** (the *********** price was cheaper, but she told us that this rate was not correct). As we were desperate for somewhere to stay we booked direct. Upon our arrival at the property, at our confirmed arrival time, the host informed us that she forgot we were coming. We were then shown a room, which was nothing like the rooms advertised on the website, it was very small, the bed was very uncomfortable and hard. We felt like we were in the way, it was not a comfortable stay at all. The host informed us that she had an art class the next morning and breakfast was available before a certain time due to setting up for the class. The next morning, we went to breakfast and it was nice, but we felt rushed and like we were an inconvenience to the host. We wouldn't recommend staying unless you are visiting the centre.

Booked by chance, I had the experience of a lifetime. The place is a continuous source of surprises and art works at every corner, in a perfect balance of composite, tidy disorder. The art works create a magic atmosphere, it seems to be in a different world. Cathy and John are super welcoming, and I was gifted with a peacock feather, that is now decorating my living room, while sipping a good Chardonnay and olives. We had dinner together and the conversation flowed smoothly through the most different topics. Peacocks were walking free in all their elegance at sunset. The room was lovely, clean, and decorated with paintings and exhibition posters, I could read the artist book that inspired the whole place, that was the perfect sleep. Breakfast the morning after was generous, tasty and well presented, served in a showroom of other beautiful, well assorted artworks in matching colours, just the perfect way to start the day. I took one last tour at the exhibition and voted my favourite piece of art and left a little piece of he-art in this hidden gem of Wales.
