We went for a birthday meal and had three courses each of which was utterly disappointing. My partner ordered a salmon parfait starter and it came as a huge chunk of butter with a slither of salmon either side. We were gobsmacked and couldn't imagine how a chef would consider this acceptable. We complained there and then and had that course removed from our bill and a complimentary dessert added. Which we though a reasonable offer until we tasted our free dessert! Awful. The main fish course was completely lacking in taste and flavour, the sandfire was hard and the dish was cooked in butter and that's all you could taste. Safe to say we won't be stepping foot inside the restaurant again.

We’ve stayed a few times here and each time has been brilliant. We take advantage of their stay and dine offers. Food is excellent and as for the cocktails .. 👌🏻 One stay was just before Christmas and the decor was just beautiful and very festive. We’ve always stayed in one of their suites , 4 of them so far x all individual and comfortable. Would highly recommend a stay here. Friends also got married here and had a wonderful wedding.

Had a lovely stay. Nice relaxing atmosphere and the staff were really friendly. One of the Receptionists Victoria was lovely, friendly and very helpful. The food was beautiful and excellent quality. The room was cosy and very clean, with all the amenities we needed. We had a lovely time. Thank you.

Unfortunately we found this year’s Christmas stay disappointing. We stayed during Christmas last year and had the most wonderful time. The food was out of this world and service was fantastic. It felt amazing value for money but wasn’t replicated this year. This year we could see there was a lot of cut backs. The food was no where near as good in the Brasserie than last year (bar food is lovely though). The Christmas Day menu had a few odd choices like it was trying to hard to be posh. I was never asked how I’d like my beef fillet cooked and it arrived rare. The ‘King Scallops’ was my chosen starter yet I got a rather pathetic 1 small scallop on my plate despite it being plural on the menu. The previous night a £12 duck breast starter was the tiniest 1 slice of duck. The sorbet pallet cleanser was a strange choice and quite a risk in terms of most people enjoying it - a goats cheese and elderflower sorbet was very bizarre and inedible for our table. I believe there is a new chef this year and unfortunately the food or menu wasn’t as good as the last year (I would love to know where last years chef has gone!). Despite the Christmas stay (total of £725 per room) adverting dinner included on Christmas Eve and Boxing Day they fail to mention that you can only have £25’s allocation worth on the small print or in person. Which on Christmas Eve barely covered a main course alone! We had to investigate what we were allowed to order or what was included as even the waiters weren’t sure. My Boxing Day meal was a beef roast but the quality of the striploin was poor, really rough and chewy - hard work to cut with a knife! The wine quality had changed from last year also, despite still being high prices I could tell the White Pinot Grigio was a different cheaper bottle and tasted poor for the £25 price. Last years was a lovely wine. To get a decent bottle you have to pay between £32-45. Staff are all lovely and very polite but even the service wasn’t as good - you could tell the staff were simply stretched and there was too little of them, with some temporary staff not having a clue what to do. We were left a number of times waiting a while for drinks and looking around for any waiters who were nowhere to be seen. The restaurant at breakfast and dinner were empty with no staff around at various points. Even our meals were taking 3 hours to finish. Service was painfully slow at times for both dinner and breakfast. Shoutout to James who was 10/10 on Christmas Day and really looked after us at the bar. The rooms are starting to look a bit scruffy in places, dirty carpets and windows.My shower pressure was very poor. Bar and seating areas starting to feel worn. You can charge drinks to the room but beware that it is really hard work to see an itemised bill at the end of your stay. The bill they print off just has a list with no date or time stamps of the transactions. We noticed a few errors has been done that needed to be amended. A shame as last year it

We have been lucky enough to go for Afternoon Tea at Mitton Hall twice in the last month. The service, the food was brilliant. The afternoon tea has a good selection of sandwiches, some hot savouries, and plenty of cakes. You can change the selection if there are things you don't like. The dining room is beautiful and you feel you have had a special treat.

Afternoon Tea. An excellent experience. The maitre d was outstanding. He was extremely attentive without being too much. We had a 6 year old with us, he was looked after so well, exceptional children’s menu brought for him. Not just the usual rubbish for children, but a good range of food, from chicken Sunday lunch ti spaghetti bolognaise. The afternoon tea was first class, the scones were probably among the best I have had, light and not a crumbly mess. The sandwiches and cakes were very good. The sausage roll outstanding. We had champagne which was lovely. The child’s Sunday lunch was an incredible £7.50. Amazing. Can’t fault it, lovely table in the window. Excellent service, and food. Will definitely come again
