Alder Lodge Guest House

We only stayed one night here, but we wish it had been longer. Very cozy place. Clean and tidy. Great bathroom with a good shower. Delicious breakfast. Very friendly staff. Absolutely top-notch! We’d love to come back.

About as perfect as one can get. All breakfasts cooked to order arrived promptly. Our room was spacious and the smart TV worked perfectly including I player and Netflix. Spotlessly clean. Generous allowance of biscuits. All the staff (one family I think) were exceptionally friendly

I stayed here for a week in November 2024 If you are coming to work in or visit Shetland then I advise you to look no further than this marvellous establishment. I challenge you to find another guest house that is as well run and impeccably furnished and welcoming as the Alder Lodge in Lerwick. Vanessa who looks after all the guests will do anything to make your stay as welcoming and as nourishing as possible with her delicious food freshly prepared with locally sourced ingredients that are quite possibly the tastiest in town and beyond. The rooms are beautifully decorated and modern with a wee fridge for convenience. Thermostat controlled central heating in each room makes this a home from home that is only a short walk to bars and restaurants. Vanessa takes customer satisfaction to another level and cannot do enough for her guests. AMAZING ☺️

Absolutely the best wee b and b super friendly lovely staff couldn't have made our visit to shetland any better breakfast to die for Vanessa definitely an asset to this place ask anything she will help if she can or point you in the right direction
