Awsome - We’ll come back. Great host Amanda, who was very informed and plesant. Got fresh breakfast deliverd in the room every day. Very good bed, Nice and tidy room. Very cute chickens in the garden. A short walk to everything in Lerwick. No disturbance at all Thank you for the stay

Had great stay at Norlande. I had a tiny room, but i knew that in advance. It had all I needed as a base for my exploration of the Shetlands. Very comfortable bed. And I became very fond of the wee bird that chirped outside my window.

Our host, Amanda, could not have been more helpful or hospitable. Given the covid restrictions, she was able to set up the room so that we were able to have breakfast in our room. The room was so comfortable and clean. The location was great with the main town centre on your doorstep and short walk from the Ferry Terminal. Amanda's passion and knowledge of Shetland was invaluable and she was always on hand with tips and advice. We are coming back to Shetland and, without question, we will be staying here again! Thank you Amanda! And see you again soon!

The accommodation is in a good location in Lerwick. It is within easy reach of restaurants and supermarkets. The room was cosy and had everything I needed and was very clean. I received a very warm welcome from the owner and would recommend Norlande to anyone.

DANGEROUS & NEGLIGENT - EVICTED AT MIDNIGHT I am writing this review to warn others of the dangerous and shocking behaviour I experienced at Norlande. The stay started poorly with a tiny room and, as I was only informed the day before arrival, a toilet three flights of stairs away. However, this was nothing compared to what happened later. At around 12:15 AM, I found water leaking from the base of the coffee maker provided in my room. To prevent an obvious electrical hazard, I immediately unplugged the unit. Pulled the unit out to see if it was leaking else where. The owner then burst into my room, furious about the noise. I clearly explained the situation and pointed to the leaking appliance. He even looked at the unplugged cable and about the place. He completely ignored my concerns for safety. His response was to evict me on the spot. He threw me out onto the street in Shetland, after midnight, in the cold. I was left with no choice but to start the 23km walk to the airport to make my morning flight. He had also called the police, who stopped me on my walk but were reanobly understanding once I explained the situation. A local resident kindly gave me a lift for the final few kilometres. To be placed in danger by faulty equipment, and then be evicted and abandoned by the owner for simply dealing with that danger, is the worst treatment I have ever encountered from any business. This was not just bad service; it was negligent and unsafe. For your own safety and dignity, I strongly advise you to book elsewhere.

Amanda is a wonderful helpful host with a lovely welcoming family and a wealth of knowledge on all things Shetland. The rooms are extremely comfortable, spotlessly clean and have everything you need (The Breakfast Baskets are a Brilliant Idea😋) - In addition to that, Norlande location right in the heart of Lerwick makes it ideal for everything that's going on including being in line of sight of the Folk Festival club at nearby Islesburgh Community Centre (Which has a great Cafe and lovely home cooked meals - very handy for a B&B stay) Overall Norlande can't be faulted in my opinion. One of the very nicest Guest Houses I've had the pleasure to stay at, with beautiful rooms, a lovely helpful host and the world renowned unique warm Shetland welcome.
