The food presented initially looked good until you saw one very small piece of chicken on a bed of one leaf type lettuce with 25 black olives, two pieces of pancetta and five pieces of sun dried tomatoes. It was only as I stated eating I realised how small a portion the chicken was as it had a crumb coating. This was a main course not sure the starter would have any. It was raised with the staff member who was going to speak with the kitchen. No further contact was made. The majority of the lettuce and olives I left eating the chicken in three bites along with the pancetta and tomatoes. When the plates were collected we were informed there would be a discount for the chicken course. It was £14 they looked to discount by £4. The starter chicken course was priced at £7.50 so I questioned that it was insufficient discount for the quality and portion size. Also on reading the menu again I realised it had not had the croutons or dressing. Falsely misrepresented or the kitchen had given the starter plate not the main plate. After discussion I was not charged for the chicken meal. My partners fish main course was good quality served with samphire and new potatoes. I do feel more should have occurred to resolve when I first mentioned it was not good quality. One of the poorest meals as a main course I have ever been served.

Stay away from this dump. £130 a night!! An extra charge of £15 pp for breakfast even though its described as a B&B? And if you walk in off the street the breakfast costs £9.50? Unbelievable. Falling apart and very run down. Please stay else where and avoid disappointment.

Stayed here after the Suffolk Coast Path 50k and ate there in the evening. Sat in the Snug which was a nice. Staff were very attentive and got our order quickly which was good as daughter was hangry. Start with bread and olives which were delicious. For the main my wife had the rump steak, daughter had children’s spaghetti and I had nachos. My wife said the steak was the best steak she’d ever had, my daughter loved the spaghetti which was a generous portion for a child and came with garlic focaccia and the nachos were delicious. We ordered some extra chips (I had run 50k that day!) and they were very nice. The waiter recommended a lager - flint eye - which was really nice, and we’d never drink before. My daughter and I had Belgian waffles for dessert, which were very nice. We were then able to sit and play cards for a while before heading up to bed. Room was very nice and clean. Thanks to all the staff for making our stay so nice.

Forget sleeping, my room was above the bar where a live band was playing and the sound vibrated upwards through the floor boards. Had I known this I would not have booked. It was overpriced for not being able to get a decent nights kip! The only saving grace was that the food was lovely.

Visit to Leiston to play county bowls and stopped for a meal on the way home. Good menu, reasonable price, good selection of beers and very friendly staff. The ladies selected the scampi and chips and the men rare rump steaks and chips. Well presented and tasty food. Plenty of parking space.

My daughter and I devoured the most delicious burgers at The White Horse Hotel this evening. 🍔💙 Stacked with crisp lettuce, perfectly melted cheese, creamy garlic sauce, tangy relish and chunky rashers of bacon. This burger tastes as good as it looks. My daughter doesn’t like coleslaw…. Well… she does now! 😂 The homemade coleslaw was crunchy, not too onion-y and my daughter even decided to finish mine to my surprise. Wonderful service from Harry and his delightful choice of trousers. Thank you very much, we shall be coming back for dinner soon! x
