The value of the rooms and experience did not match the very high price for the rooms. The breakfast was good and the staff in the restaurant friendly, but we not only were watched like a hawk as we were looking at the tea, as if we were going to steal some, but felt we were nickled and dimed for every little thing. An extra 5 pesos to add a little cheese to an omelet, for example. When we arrived, we were forced to sign an elaborate contract and provide credit card deposit for room damage, as if they were expecting us to destroy their property. My son was sick from some food he ate on the island, and when I asked the reception for cleaning materials to clean up the room, several times, he couldn't even be bothered to ask how my son was feeling. Maybe that is asking to much, but the man at reception just didn't seem to care at all about our family, our experience or our time spent here, as long as he got his money. It rained the entire time we were here, with high winds, keeping us stuck in the rooms for much of the time, and unfortunately, the rooms were pretty basic and bare, fine if we were paying hostel prices, but we paid approximately $450 US per night per room!
