愛麗絲度假屋(Alice's Cottages)

The home away from home is the best way to describe this welcoming, warm, accomodating stay. We had the honour of staying in the Outlander cottage at Alices Cottages in Launceston for 6 days to begin our Honeymoon and honestly we were sad when we had to leave. We had the breakfast basket sent to us everyday while out exploring and couldnt wait to get up and prepare the large spreads we were normally use to. It was a perfect start to married life with a wonderful fully equipped kitchen and large fridge that we could duck to the shops and grab groceries for and make our own dinner every night together. This honestly is the most comfortable bed and set of pillows I have ever stayed in. The cottage is warm and cosy with the theme set out beautifully as I am a big fan of both the books and the show outlander, these guys nailed it. If your looking for true cottage core that feels like the show/books with the modern touches this is the stay for you. I loved the hot water bottles, that beautiful blanket on the bed, comfortable couch and the lovely places to sit and crochet quietly. To cap off our adventures we found ourselves longing to head back and have a long spa with the provided bubble bath and epsom rose scented salts that made each day perfect. It truly became a sanctuary from the energy spent in the morning and during the day heading out around launceston. There was minimal involvement from staff, with the self check in and being able to reach out via text rather then having awkward conversations on the phone or face to face encounters which was perfect for myself and my husband as we are both on the spectrum and this social interaction can be difficult for us both at times. Everyday our needs were catered for, rubbish taken away, fresh towles, cleaning and tidying. My husband enjoyed the port left out for us, having never tried port he found it was enjoyable having a nip of an evening while I settled myself with decorating their tree and even adding a second tree because I am very festive around christmas and the place didn't disapoint in this regard. There is also a fully equipped laundry and dryer. Laundry detergent is provided and when you head out and around the cottage to the laundry there is a quaint courtyard and garden that is beautiful to sit at with a little table and chairs if the weather is favourable. I only wish that we had chosen to book through their website directly and highly recommend that you do yourselves. This may have been due to the stress of our wedding and my husband using *********** because it was more convienient with all the stress of planning. Be careful however bringing a large vehical as the parking can be quiet close to other guests for this cottage and the french cottage. This honestly is a must do stay even if you are only in launceston for one night we could not highly recommend it more. It is an excellent experience and your time is guaranteed to be well spent here.

So very ‘olden day’ quaint with modern day comforts. And not haunted if this might be a concern! Open fire but also heat/cooling system which was more than adequate. Loved the carpet, comfy 4 poster bed, easy to communicate with hosts who are super friendly. Ample toiletries. Very roomy. Our stay included breakfast basket which was amazing, everything from bread & muesli, to juices, yoghurt, eggs & bacon. Plenty of milk. Espresso machine. Welcome bottle of wine & beers, cheese & biccies, port. Decent speed wifi. Private parking at each cottage. Highly recommend Alice’s Cottages. So enjoyed our stay!

We have stayed at Alice's Cottages three times now, always in the Welsh Cottage. Each cottage is thoughtfully furnished in line with its name, in a delioghtful garden setting. The cottage was immaculately clean, and the small kitchen is adequately supplied, including an induction stove top and a top quality saucepan set. There is off-street parking and the property is fairly central in Launceston, which provides easy access to a range of tourist attractions such as the Tamar Wine Region. We really appreciate the little extras supplied, including generous breakfast provisions ( if included in room rate), a decanter of port for after dinner relaxation, bath salts and oil. The only issue we had on this visit was that the internet dropped out for about 45 mins on both nights, which was a bit annoying, but it came back on for no apparent reason. Although there is no electric car charger onsite, our hosts were able to advise us on where we could find the nearest chargers.

Beautiful cottages. Excellent hospitality. Conveniently located and in close proximity to tourist attractions and great restaurants. Very responsive staff. High quality breakfast with generous quantity offered daily. Laundry and parking available on site. Highly recommended.

Our stay at Alice’s Cottages was amazing. We stayed in the English cottage. We loved the feel of the cottage from the moment we entered. The kitchen had everything we needed. Then through to the lounge room- awesome - the fire place was the stand out. Our bed was super comfy and the bathroom with a bath was great for a relaxing soak after a day of sightseeing. The port and huge breakfast provisions satisfied us all the more.

We were originally booked to stay at the sister accommodation, The Dragonfly Inn for 4 nights but changed to Alice's Cottages because they were better located for us. We stayed in the Welsh Cottage was was absolutely charming and brought back lovely memories of our time in Wales. We loved the open fireplace and the quirkiness of the cottage. The breakfast was very generous. There was parking outside our front door. I would have no hesitation in recommending Alice's Cottages to anyone staying in Launceston.

We loved our Welsh Cottage. Stayed five nights for our 40th Wedding Anniversary tour of Tassie. We chose the Welsh Cottage because we used to live in Wales and hubby is Welsh! So quirky, cute, cosy and in a great location. Interesting lumpy, cracked 'n' crooked but truly characterful walls! Some of the white paintwork looks like it was done by the cat but added to the overall charm!! Also, we think the day/night blinds have been hung back to front (the day blind is usually on the outside with the night blind on the inside). Great breakfast supply idea with a basket in your fridge updated daily with your requested choices. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff either (asked for bigger red wine glasses and then they arrived!). A couple of very small negatives ... It was very cold in the bathroom with only an electric fan heater. The fireplace, whilst lovely and with ample wood provided, didn't really give off much heat and we were unable to leave it burning, obviously for safely reasons, when we went out. Therefore, we used the electric wall heater in the kitchen and the reverse cycle unit in the lounge to warm the cottage more. Amenities were good overall and we felt very at home and snug. Thank you for the bubbles for our anniversary! Sadly, we didn't get to use the jet bath, just too cold in there for us, being from WA! It was so good to have a proper washing machine and tumble dryer that were excellent, free to use and with free washing powder supplied. We did have a "usual" (very minor) issue with a chopping board ... so many accommodations do not check the hygiene of chopping boards (not just here, it's common!) But, there was no problem as it was replaced straight away by one of the service staff. Lots of authentic touches that reminded us so much of Wales like the black coal figurines, the photos of women in their traditional costumes, the slate display coaster and a great collection of old books. No idea what the other cottages were like but would definitely recommend this cute little Welsh Cottage.

There are a number of great reviews for these cottages. Our stay in the Scottish cottage was excellent. Fabulous breakfast basket refreshed each day. Great log fire in the lounge but as the weather was warm we did not need to light it. Separate reverse cycle heater/cooler in the lounge wall. I understand the owners/management company will be updating the cottages and have allready done the English one. I hope they don't lose the originality of the cottages. See other reviews for more details. Something different to the usual B/B. Well worth the stay.

They make our stay very pleasant and the room is clean and well set up Everything we need is there with lots of Knick knacks available like cheese and crackers, port, beer and ginger ale as complimentary for us to feel at home
