La struttura è pulita, accogliente e ben organizzata, ideale sia per una sosta breve che per un soggiorno più lungo. Le camere sono confortevoli, curate e silenziose. I cuscini e i materassi sono comodi per una buona qualità del sonno. Il personale è molto gentile e disponibile, sempre pronto ad aiutare e a far sentire gli ospiti a proprio agio. La posizione è centrale e comoda e permette di raggiungere facilmente i principali punti di interesse della città di Latacunga. Buona anche la colazione. A disposizione degli ospiti c'è anche la terrazza panoramica e il ristorante. Ottimo rapporto qualità-prezzo.

I went to the Golden rest before and after the Quilotoa loop, and both time I slept in great beds in this beautiful hostel with an amazing view on the Cotopaxi from the rooftop. The owners are very friendly and helpful !

~Posizione comoda nel centro storico. Per caso abbiamo scoperto che il parcheggio custodito a 50m dall’hotel fosse gratuito per chi alloggiasse al Golden Rest, dalle 18 alle 9 di mattina. ~ Camere fredde Letto piccolissimo, in due facevamo fatica a dormire. Doccia con acqua tiepida, non calda e il proprietario si era dimenticato di spiegarci come “attivare” l’acqua calda. Inoltre, per due giorni abbiamo avuto puzza di umido nel bagno perché il tappetino era zuppo di acqua della doccia che perdeva e non ci sono stati cambiate le asciugamani e ne rifatto il letto. Non ci è stato cambiato neanche il bidoncino dove si butta la carta igienica usata, quindi per 2 giorni abbiamo avuto il bidoncino con la carta sporca. ~ Colazione molto semplice con uova sbattute, formaggio, caffè e del pane. ~ Cene semplici con riso e pollo. ~ Struttura bella, ma lasciata andare, come per esempio nei corridoi delle camere non c’era modo di accendere la luce o di attivarla, quindi abbiamo “giocato” a “infila la chiave nella toppa” per due notti. ~ Se siete veramente low badget va bene, se cercate qualcosa di più comodo non ve lo consiglio.

Muy bonito buen personaje y espacioso

We recently spent two pleasant nights in a Junior Suite. The room was spacious (though not a suite in the traditional sense), clean, quiet, and functional (despite some water leaks in the bathroom). Comfortable bed and sofa, decent cabinet space for unpacking a bit. We appreciated the classy central courtyard where you can sit and relax with a snack and a cup of tea in the evening, the gorgeous views from the rooftop terrace, and the very convenient central location. All staff members we interacted with were polite and professional, and we were happy with the luggage storage and taxi arrangements they made for us, including a reasonably-priced private transfer to Quito.

Beautiful hotel, only one in the world entirely made of pumice! The service and room were both excellent. Fabulous breakfast of fresh fruit, juice and egg scramble made to order. Walking distance from everything in old part of town. Would stay again!

We enjoyed our one night stay and would love to come back! It is walking distance tona huge market, stores, vendors and restaurants. The coffee was wonderful, as was the breakfast. The staff was extremely courtious as well. One unique feature is that it is the only hotel in the world made entirely out of pumice (volcanic rock)

Great budget stopover on the way to Lake Quilatoa. 4 min walk to the historic center/ Parque Vicente León. Free, simple breakfast of juice, coffee, fresh fruit, plain scrambled eggs, and bread and cheese. Large window with blackout curtains faced the outdoor hallway. Large, clean room with 2 beds. Simple, but comfortable. Good water pressure in shower. Quiet street, quiet guests. Restaurant, bar, and lobby lounge/rec area with ping pong and pool tables. Free parking in a garage down the street. CONS: A little difficult to find because it's tucked around a corner on a one-way street and the entrance is through the restaurant. Credit cards are not accepted. Cash or pay by phone using Zelle app. No Wi-Fi in the rooms. The rooms are in the building next to the restaurant & lobby, separated by an open air courtyard. At night, it is too dark to see the steps, so have your phone flashlight handy. No elevator. Dark stairway. No door to the toilet/shower, so you have to close the door between the sink and the bedroom. It seemed pointless to have a separate, huge room for just the sink. Overall, it was a good stay for a bargain price.
