Con mio marito cercavamo un vero pub di campagna in cui stare durante la nostra vacanza nel "lake district" e siamo stati qui due notti. Siamo rimasti soddisfatti nel nostro desiderio, abbiamo trovato una bella atmosfera (anche se me lo sarei aspettato un pò più "affollato"). Camera molto calda, in tutti i sensi, forse un pò "buia" , ma dotata di tutto l'occorrente. Avevamo la colazione ma ci siamo fermati anche per cena tutte e due le sere. Abbiamo mangiato bene, ottimo il fish e chips e la pie. Colazione più orientata sul salato (ma è l'abitudine inglese dopo tutto), ma comunque toast burro e marmellata si trovano sempre...noi viaggiavamo con i mezzi pubblici ed anche se c'è una fermata del bus praticamente davanti bisogna fare attenzione agli orari ed è una scelta un pò limitante, sicuramente meglio avere un mezzo proprio.. per quanto riguarda l'accessibilità, le camere sono al piano superiore ma c'è un ascensore e l'albergo mi è sembrato attrezzato per disabili e carrozzine, anche il nostro bagno era chiaramente accessibile per disabili..

Stayed here for 2 nights with my husband. It is a real country pub with lovely views. They have 10 rooms in total. Everywhere is very clean, the room was cozy with a decent sized bathroom and a big comfy bed. They book you a table for your evening meal when you book your stay, that's a good idea as you are a good 10-15 minutes drive into Bowness if you wanted to eat out. Both evening meals were lovely and each day of the week they have an offer, eg Wednesday is curry night 2 for £25 bit thru still have their full evening menu on as well. Great choice of real ales, gin and wine. Breakfast was equally as good and nothing is too much trouble. They are dog friendly for staying and eating and even have a dog menu for food. Lovely outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend and we definitely want to go back.

This is a true gem of Lakeland. Wonderful location and great food…the children thoroughly enjoyed it. Waitress - Ashleigh was lovely. So friendly and very attentive service 👌 This place is a must if you’re passing…and looks like a great place to stay too!!!

Our room (Bowfell) had beautiful wood features (dresser, closet, desk, wainscoting, and ceiling beams) and a window wall looking into the nearby hillside. A full-size mirror brought additional light into the room. The overall effect was calming, natural, and befitting of the amazing setting of the English Lake District. Our room was comfortable and of adequate size for our short stay. We also appreciated the convenience of having a restaurant on the premises. Dinner and breakfast selections were typical British fare and both very good.

I stayed here in 2022 and loved it, so always thought I'd come back at some point. I booked fairly late on and stayed in the Helvellyn room for two nights. The website states there may be some noise from the kitchen, but I didn't hear a thing! A lovely room: cosy, spotless and, as was the case last year, proper milk in flasks. Great idea! Both breakfasts I had were brilliant, as were the evening meals...great choice of beers too. What sets the Queen's Head apart is the friendliness of the staff, in particular Sam. As a solo traveller, you may sometimes feel a little self conscious, but she made me feel incredibly welcome. Whilst very business, she still had time to ask me about my day, etc. and referred to me by my name throughout the stay. Little things, but it goes a long way. I look forward to heading back in the future!

Lovely country pub famous in Lakeland for hospitality, we loved our Sunday lunch , with Yorkshire puds overlapping the plate!! Returned for chippy Tuesday and had the best ever fish n chips and even doggy got a fishy meal Super place worth supporting
