Very disappointing Sunday lunch - vegetables were stone cold they arrived separately not even luke warm . When it came to dessert they had sold out of the treacle sponge - not acceptable for a hotel of this star rating and 2 AA rosettes for food .

Ate here with friends (in a large group) and have to say the service and quality of the food was exceptional! The setting is absolutely stunning and from the moment you arrive and have a welcome drink, you can’t help but relax and unwind. Everything here was excellent

We got married here in early December and whilst perfect seems like a strong word it is definitely the right one. I struggle with anxiety and am definitely a control freak and threw every question and possible scenario at Kirsty (an absolute GEM among gems) during the planning phase and for every single one she had a well prepared answer. The planning that went into our day was unmatched. Then it's the big day...I wasn't feeling great in the morning (mix of nerves and just general sickness), Michelle (how utterly fantastic she was) noticed I wasn't at breakfast...so appeared in the bridal suite with pastries. There is literally nothing that is too much trouble and they go completely above and beyond in every aspect. Whilst Michelle was keeping me sane (and fed!) in the morning Jasmine was downstairs running around setting everything up behind the scenes. She was a core part of ensuring our day ran as smoothly as it did and making sure everything was on time and set up correctly. We had so many compliments on the organisation of the day and how smooth everything ran. But the big showstopper? The food. Oh my goodness the food. Even if you don't get the chance to get married or attend a wedding here you are in luck. They do dining evenings and weekends too. I would recommend these to everyone just to try their incredible food. We've definitely got our eye on a few events throughout the year and we will definitely be back for a festive Chris**as lunch on our anniversary. So many people were raving about the food all night, definitely a highlight. Finally to Amanda who was an absolute diamond in the evening, she ensured everything ran almost effortlessly and was checking in on me throughout the night. Thank you isn't and will never be enough for Kirsty, Michelle, Amanda, Jasmine and the entire Old Hall Team working tirelessly behind the scenes. I'm so excited that the Old Hall is a hotel and restaurant as well, gives us every reason to go back...and we definitely will!

Fabulous Sunday dinner, beautifully presented and very very tasty, the beef was so tender, the vegetables were plentiful and cooked to perfection, staff and a**osphere was spot on. Would definitely recommend it. My husband asked if there was any chance we could look around at the bedrooms and the lovely lady with blond hair showed us around and talked about the history etc. The rooms are stunning and we will definitely go back and stay next time.

Lovely old hall beautifully renovated.Warm and cosy. We stayed in a deluxe room looking towards Ely Cathederal. Very comfy bed.good sized room and bathroom. Food excellent quality and well presented. Only issue was crossing the main road to Ely outside the hotel entrance.Very busy.Tip turn to Stuntley village and head through there so you don't have to cross the carriageway

As a hotel resident (overnight for work) I went to the bar at 10.15pm for a last drink after working late. I was told that they couldn’t serve after 10pm because they were a bed and breakfast not a hotel? Er… your website positions you as ‘Ely’s most luxurious hotel’? At least mention the bar opening times at check in like you do with the breakfast serving times. Disappointed that they are not clear and that the manager insinuated that I should have known that (unlike every other hotel I’ve ever stayed in) they don’t have a bar past 10pm. I will be letting my company know to take this place off their list - how embarrassing would it have been if I had brought a client here for dinner.

I stayed in this hotel on 26/07 for one night. The room had no wardrobes, curtains let in the light, and car noise from the nearby highway. The breakfast was one of the worst ever and we left most of it uneaten. Then at 9.45 am we were chased out of our room being told check out was at 10 am, when most hotels at 12. I left the room in a hurry and I sat down in the lobby to send some emails. I was then informed that I had to leave the hotel immediately as they had a wedding that day and the whole hotel was booked. I said I was a paying guest and that I was not told that I would need to leave the premises by 10.30 am. The manager then came out and in a rude and disrespectful manner told me that unless I leave the hotel in five minutes she will March me off the premises. I have stayed in many hotels and have been treated in this awful manner. This hotel cares only about money making and not their individual guests. Stay away

The meal was lovely . The staff were nice and you could take your time and you were not hurried. Great experience!! I would recommend this place to visit. It is very cosy and warm. The food was delicious.

Excellent stay at the Old Hall, Ely. Very friendly and accommodating staff and a lovely room with a view overlooking the lake and of Ely Cathedral which was spotlessly clean. Excellent dinner at the hotel and breakfast. Couldn’t fault our stay at all. We will be returning again soon for another child free break!
