Great unit and location with easy access to the beach. Love leaving the door open to listen to the waves.

I will call customer service, but the fireplace at the unit in Laguna Beach was falling apart. The brick was coming out. There was pieces of the wall on the floor as we entered the unit very unsafe we did stay because we had no other choice, but we’d like at least a partial refund or a credit for another rental.

Great ocean front view. Parking is a little tight but doable. I will definitely be back!

Online views are misleading, we couldn’t see the beach as portrayed..

Wonderful getaway I truly hidden gem in Laguna Beach, Wonderful units within steps of the sand. Amazing views and just a perfect hotel.

My wife and I really enjoyed this place. We initially booked a room at 14 West on PCH, but we wanted to see the rooms in person before our stay, which the hotel was more than willing to let us do. The 14 West room we saw on PCH was pretty nice. It was clean, modern, and at a great location and for a great price. We asked about the property as we were kind of confused why we needed to check in for our hotel at the Holiday Inn next door. Turns out the owner of 14 West, who happens to own pretty much the entire block adjacent to 14 West (all shops/stores/properties), had recently acquired the Holiday Inn as well. Also found out he owns some proprieties across the street including these Villas, otherwise known as the retreat. We asked if there were any ocean front vacancies, and to our surprise there was one, Villa 6. They let us check the place out first and we fell in love before we even entered the unit, which is pretty much a one bedroom apartment with a full kitchen (not kitchenette), living room, dining area, and a balcony. As we were walking up to the front door we could hear the waves crashing on the shore and we knew this place was going to be super rad. My wife and I fell in love with it and decided to cancel our dinner reservations at a pricey restaurant because we could go out to dinner any time. We figured we’d save the money we’d be spending at dinner and upgrade to this place. It is soooo beautiful, and the villa is incredible. I seriously wish I could live here with my family. This place is a MUST!! The staff who manage these villas at 14 West at Holiday Inn (I know, super confusing) are so nice and courteous. The gal who helped us is, Emily. She was so kind, friendly, and accommodating. I pray this business treats her well. It’s so difficult to come across good workers these days who actually care about doing their job well. Emily is definitely one of those individuals. Thanks, Emily!!!!

From the moment we checked in, Nasrin made our entire experience memorable. I'd recommend Villa 5 as the view from above is magical. We'll definitely be recommending The Retreat to our friends and family.

The staff was a major concern. We seemed to be an inconvenience when we accidentally forgot a device after checking out and had to go back and ask someone to open the room for a second. Then, due to their poor communication, the manager calls me accusing me of staying longer after I had extended one more night/day. It was their absolute lack of communication. But, also, poor communication when relating this back to me, even though I did everything right when I added an additional night. Poor customer service

Amazing View The view was from the room was absolutely amazing and you are walking distance to all the cool restaurants and shops. That made it all worth it. We had a great time. That said, the air conditioning and wi-fi don't work, they know they don't work, and they don't seem to care that they don't work. Luckily, neither really affected the trip for us too much, but you should be aware. But with the poor cell coverage, best this be an unplugged trip.
