Один из уникальных отелей в Ковалам, куда можно ехать одному, с семьей, парой, друзьями. При этом пройти курс массажей или полностью аюрведы в лучших традициях. Массажные кабинеты идеальные, в них свежий воздух и звуки природы. Роскошная встреча гостей в просторном ресепшен. Русскоговорящий персонал, что не маловажно доктор, к которому приходите на прием, отлично владеет русским. В отеле чистота. Номера в современном стиле, но традиционные элементы присутствуют. Очень удобные кровати. Территория довольно большая с разными зонами и один из немногих пляжей, где можно купаться круглый год. Тематические вечера проводят регулярно. Вкусная кухня. Персонал всегда готов помочь. Идеальное место для расслабленного отдыха, но если хочется вернуться в цивилизацию, то она рядом, что радует. Шикарный владелец отеля с радостью пообщается и даже возьмет интервью о вашем отдыхе.

Meine Frau und ich waren überaus zufrieden mit unserem Aufenthalt. (4 Nächte) Wir hatten ein Zimmer mit grossem Balkon und Meerblick im zweiten Stock, was sehr ansprechend und gross war. Das Team von Mr Sandeep Kumar and savana supervisor war sehr zuvorkommend und freundlich. Das Zimmer wurde jeden Tag sehr ordentlich und sauber zurechtgemacht. Wir haben den Wäscheservice genutzt. Die Wäsche war nach einem Tag fertig und ordentlich zusammengelegt. Wir waren jeden Tag beim Ayurveda, ( 30 Minuten) und waren immer sehr zufrieden. Das Team war immer sehr freundlich und die Massage war wohltuend. Ich wurde u.a. von Mr. Suresh Raj massiert, der das sehr gut gemacht hat. Leider kenne ich die anderen Namen nicht. Ganz besonders hervorheben möchte ich das Restaurant. Das Essen war indisch und sehr gut und abwechslungsreich. Wir hatten das Fühstücks- und Dinner-Buffet in unserer Buchung inkludiert. Die Bedienung war überaus freundlich und sehr zuvorkommend. Wir werden die Menschen dort vermissen. Wir waren in den Pools schwimmen und habe es genossen. Es war alles in Ordnung. Bei drei Pools hat *** immer einen in der Nähe und unserer nächster war eine Treppe von unserem Zimmer entfernt. Strand hat es eigentlich wenig. Selbst bei Ebbe ist nur wenig Sand zu sehen. Und das Stück zwischen Brandungsmauer und Hotel ist zwar mit Sand versehen, aber in meinen Augen kein Strand. Dafür bläst immer eine steife Brise und es hat hohe Wellen. Der Wind macht die Hitze erträglicher. Das Hotel organisiert auch Ausflüge. Wir hatten einen gebucht, der in den Mangrovenwald ging. Eine Bootsfahrt ca. 90 Minuten. War sehr interessant (Poovar Backwater). Wir waren schon in vielen indischen Hotels, auch ohne Sterne. Dieses gehört zu den besten, die wir erlebt haben. Und das sagen wir aus eigener Erfahrung. Wir werden übrigens nicht gesponsert, sondern schreiben das so, wie wir es erlebt haben und weil wir Indien lieben.

Nell'ultima tappa del tour in Kerala ho soggiornato due notti in questa struttura. Hall molto grande, accogliente. Giardini curati, diverse piscine dislocate molto minimal. Stanze piccole, bagno che richiede manutenzione (ci è rimasto in mano il rubinetto della doccia, tra l'altro doccia con tenda di plastica). Kit cortesia inesistente. Personale del ristorante estremamente cordiale. Trattamenti della spa eseguiti in modo eccellente.

Si presenta davvero bene con una hall lussuosa ed è fronte mare. Peccato poi che se si esce dall’hotel e si fanno i 10 metri che lo separano dal frangiflutti si sta in mezzo ad un immondezzaio. Comunque ci danno la stanza ed è davvero grande e con un bel balcone, si affaccia sulla piscina e siamo al primo piano, ma pazienza. Il fatto è che la stanza ha la necessità di essere aggiornata non poco. Pareti e soffitto sono pieni di macchie e vanno imbiancati, la porta del bagno (bagno grande) ha visto tempi migliori ed il pavimento è pieno di macchie dove è saltata la ceramica, tanto da sembrare sporco. Il climatizzatore è davvero rumoroso, e fatica a raggiungere la temperatura ottimale ovunque, tanto più che spara in camera ed il bagno resta molto caldo. Poi se si va a vedere la pulizia delle alette del clima si inorridisce (vedi foto). La parte peggiore della situazione è che il bagno (ma non solo) è infestato da piccoli insetti (vedi foto). Una situazione che non va d’accordo con un hotel 5 stelle. Bene il Wi-Fi con un extender nella stanza. Nota di merito per il ristorante e per il personale. Questi sì da 5 stelle.

5 из 5 баллов, великолепный отель, еда, доктор Sanooj, который говорит по русски. Отдохнули душой и телом, отель из которого не хотелось уезжать. Лечение на высшем уровне, доктор был с нами каждый день все 14 дней, еду носили в номер, чтобы мы не съели ничего лишнего в столовой)))) ели на веранде номера с видом на море. Обязательно приедем еще раз. Доктору Sanooj огромная благодарность!!!!

Hotel molto bello e curato (pulito, fiori dappertutto). Si mangia molto bene e il personale è molto gentile. Il centro ayurvedico è ottimo, massaggi rilassanti che rigenerano. Sia il dottore che le terapiste sono molto simpatici e competenti. Unica nota stonata, la spiaggia dell'albergo non è attrezzata (forse perché a fine stagione) e molta spazzatura in giro. Tramonti bellissimi e ci siamo goduti il bagno in piscina. Lo consiglio!

We stayed at Uday Samudra for 2 weeks in April, bed and breakfast, with my 84yr old mother in law who has some mobility problems. The stay was excellent. The hotel is well maintained with a jungle feel and lots of trees and vegetation, and birds. The rooms were good, with comfortable beds, showers (no bath), fridges, tea and coffee making stuff, excellent and easy to use air conditioning and the key cards that worked throughout! Roomed were made up well daily, (although at unpredictable times). There is at least one room on the ground floor for wheelchair access. Rooms had balconies. There is a main buffet restaurant, 2 x a la carte restaurants and 2 snack bars, food is very good, extensive menu. For breakfast, don't expect to get an English breakfast option, lots of choice, live stations for dosas, and egg dishes and masala chai. I learned to ask for boneless chicken in curry dishes otherwise it is full of bones (which is usual here), and I found a bit unpleasant to eat. The staff are extremely helpful and I want to say a big thank you to Subeesh. O, Assistant Manager who was very helpful indeed and was very welcoming and generous . All the staff were very attentive and helpful, not all the staff had the best grasp of English, but if anyone was struggling another member of staff would come ***** and help out. There is a very reasonably priced Ayurvedic SPA. There are 3 pools, well maintained, the largest had steps and handrail to get into rather than just swimming pool ladders, so our octogenarian was delighted. (See pics). There are a few on site shops, and there are a few fascinating gift shops with Kashmir products in easy walking distance. There are also some restaurants within easy walking distance. The Uday Samudra is next to the sea but there isn't really a beach, the sea is right up to the sea wall. Nevertheless it's lovely to sit on the sea wall and watch the sea and the fishing boats. We stayed right at the end of the tourist season and at this time the hotel's main business was conferences and a wedding, this was not a problem at all and was very interesting to watch. The hotel offered tours through the travel desk, we went to the elephant rehabilitation centre and the Poovar boating. The latter was very relaxing, and lots of birds to see, go early in the day to avoid the heat. The elephant rehabilitation at Kottoor, is likely to upset westerners with the elephants in chains, very unlike the Sri Lanka and Thailand elephant places we've visited, so check the reviews on Trip before you go. Also check whether your trip costs at the hotel covers the entrance fee to your destination visit or not. We found the Uday good value for money to stay and although on site restaurant prices were higher than local restaurants they were still very reasonable. Areas that might make things even better: The room fridges could be cooler and milk instead of milk powder that we struggled to dissolve would be good. A box of tissues in the room. Poo

This my views for last year and this year and hopefully next year We went this year for a month and found there was a Festival in the village that played very loud music for most of the time. This was not in the Hotel, but ***** side it. The hotel is very popular with weddings and Meetings. We found the weddings really good fun, as if you get close to them, they invite you in, even to the meals and wedding. We found this very enjoyable indeed. The sea view from the hotel was very, very good, but the beach we feel is not that suitable for young children. In the reception, there is a manager, Renjini, who looks after guests with her team very well and is always available for advice if needed. It is so nice when you go into the main breakfast restaurant, to be greeted by a really big smile and handshake. Prasathuth.T.S (Photo 1) did this every morning and made us very welcome ***** with his colleague Blesson(Photo 2), who was so helpful. The staff(Photo 3) generally in this restaurant, were all very helpful with advice if you needed it. In the main swimming pool, there was a gentleman called Ganesan.P(Photo4) he is such an asset to the hotel as he is always there to help and adjust beds and shades all the time. The room service was very good and were a good team. The Laundry service, was very good, and were very good at ironing. Dr Raja Gopaaliyer is a very helpful and hands on CEO of the chain of Hotels. I quite often noticed him doing any job that he felt needed to be done, even to arranging flowers in reception. In the area around the hotel, there are quite a few restaurants and I feel I tried them all at least once. The best of these we felt was Ali’s Kitchen. It comes second to none for meals, especially Snapper and King Prawns. If you ever get a problem or need Travel advice or Tours or Money exchange, the shop and *** to go too is Young India. His shop is just next door to the hotel and is run by a *** called Raj(Photo 5 & 6). Raj is a *** of his word and does what he says he will do and knows all the good hotels and trips in and around India. He is very reasonable with any trips he books for you and offers great rates on money exchange. When I left, I felt I had made a good friend in Raj ***** with the Tu Tu driver Sam A month I will never forget, a fantastic experience and so many nice people.

We've just yesterday returned from a 3 night stay at the UDS, it being our final location on our tour of amazing Kerala (organised with Iris holidays). When we arrived in our spacious sea view room we discovered there was an issue with the AC unit leaking on my suitcase - thankfully I hadn't opened it at this point. Harish from reception swiftly got it sorted and as we wanted to extend our stay by some 6 hours he also arranged for that to happen at a reduced rate. So the situation was all happily resolved. We found the breakfasts to be varied, and that the breakfast restaurant staff were very courteous & efficient on the 3 days that we stayed. I feel previous visitors who've commented on the behaviour of the staff have been unnecessarily harsh. The staff we encountered were motivated & engrossed in their allocated duties and would still happily engage when I addressed them with 'namaste' and any other Malayalam I could remember!! The faces of the general cleaning staff would literally light up when you spoke to them. I do have one gripe however. On our final, extended day we opted to have a 'quick' lunch at the 'Pool side' bar & café. The 4 of us ordered a meal each, but the service was pitifully slow with each of our meals arriving individually, one at a time after the previous person had finished eating!!! I questioned the waitress about my order (cottage cheese wraps) & specifically asked that it wouldn't be spicy. Unfortunately it still was, and so accordingly I ordered some mayonnaise to calm it down. Again she moved at a snails pace & got preoccupied with serving drinks to another couple. When I saw the pot of mayonnaise left on the side by the pool side kitchen - which had been ignored by the waitress - I got up & went & retrieved it! Because of the delay with the food, I didn't have chance to check the bill at the time....the 4 alcoholic drinks for 3 offer also hadn't been honoured. On leaving the hotel & handing our key in, I did mention to Reception about the exceedingly slow service at the Pool side bar; which he said would be taken on board. Despite our experience with the Pool side bar (which had sufficient staff on duty, & the other couple ordering drinks were the only others present) we enjoyed an overall relaxing and pleasant stay at the UDS Hotel, Kovalam :)

As we conclude our 29-day stay at Uday Samudra Hotel in Kovalam, our second visit, we're once again impressed by the spacious, well-equipped rooms and amenities that met all our needs. The attentive and warm staff made our stay special. Adesh, our room attendant, greeted us with a bright smile and showed dedication to his work. Under Arun's supervision, he kept our room spotless. In the restaurant, Manager Mr. Prashanth and his team welcomed us each day. Team members like Devi, Sibu, Sahir, Kanchan, Supriya, Shirika, Athiru, and Feba provided attentive service, enhancing our dining experience. At breakfast, Sri Murugan's coffee was delightfully delicious. At the front desk, Mr. Subesh, the Front Office Manager, was cheerful and ensured our needs were met promptly. The entire team's efforts have made our stay enjoyable. We plan to return to Uday Samudra Hotel next January.
