回水喜來得民宿(Backwater Heritage Homestay)

Petites chambres sans aucun luxe hormis l'air conditionné indispensable dans l'annexe de la belle grande maison tout dans le style architectural keralais. Le tout agrémenté de terrasses décorée avec goût de toutes les belles fleurs locales, de balançoires très agréables une fois que la température redescend. Possibilité de découvrir les tout petits canaux des backwaters en pirogue, magique! Accueil et service très discret et respectueux. Nourriture ok bien que pas assez relevé à notre goût malgré la de***de. Prix imbattable!

One of the best Homestay in the entire Kerela! My husband and I spent around 2 months in this very beautiful place. The vibe of the Homestay is so beautiful that waking up to the call of cuckoo bird amidst the lush greenery is heavenly. Oh and how can I forget the delicious hot coffee that was served every morning? Both Uncle and Aunty are like extended family members who took care of my stay with so much of care. Nothing was too much for Uncle and ***y a times he really went out of his way to ensure that our stay was super comfortable. Cleanliness is maintained immaculately throughout the property. The food is awesome and is cooked with a lot of attention and love. I am really going to miss my time and can’t wait to return :-)

A very nice and peaceful home stay, staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was excellent and good value for money. The rooms are basic but clean and tidy with air con. It sits on a river and offers canoe rides.well worth the money. We would certainly go back.

Backwater Heritage Homestay in Kerala, India is a great place! Clean air, scenic river, gracious owner, and unique, delicious food. A must-visit for everybody! The place itself is located near a water body and it is a place that is very relaxing. I feel that a few days stay will make you want to stay there forever!

A great place for individuals and families to spend a quiet and comfortable few days, away from the usual fast-paced daily life. Located in a serene and beautiful small town in Kerala, with hosts Mr. Xavier Joseph and his wife Lovely showering attention (and unbelievably good food) on you day and night ! I loved it so much that I have been staying here on my visits over the last ***y years, even though my family insists I stay with them. If you are on a working vacation, as I am often, the good WiFi connection and homemade food makes it a great option. I even get a call before arrival asking what food I want and always ask for traditional Kerala dishes. Absolutely wonderful experience! For those into literature, Booker Prize winner ***ndhati (Suzanna) Roy spent most of her childhood here, and the book The God of Small Things is about life around this small town.

Couple Stayed in aug 2023 for 4 nights with my husband. Awesome place for relaxation and unwinding. Ancestral property with lovely garden and overlooking the backwaters. Uncle and aunty are always available. I had awesome home cooked meals. Uncle arranged for canoe ride and other activities. There are also cycles available. There is a nearby ayurvedic massage place. Wifi is good. Hospitality is top notch. I would definitely come here and this time for a week. This place is perfect for people who want to unwind in nature.

From the location, to the hospitality, ethnic food and nearby activities we could not have asked for more. We spent 3 nights as a family and was the perfect break we needed. Mr and Mrs Joseph went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable. The property was beautiful, well maintained, clean and relaxing. The food was excellent and made us want for more. Our young daughters, having been raised abroad felt at home and enjoyed the time spent there. For those who want to explore the backwaters there is a local outfit that offers kayaking trips located at a walking distance. It's a 2 hour drive to Kochi if one wants to explore the city and it's historic sites. Overall it was a break we will remember for a while. One will not go wrong if you decide to stay here. Highly recommended.

Stayed with the family of Xavier , which has a very good homestay 1. Best home food 2. Very nice garden where we just spent day relaxing 3. Went out fishing in his garden pond. Most important Xavier and his family tries their best to help in whatever way they can. Thanks again.

The homestay is run by the lovely Xavier Joseph and his wife, a trustworthy, warm and kind couple. The food both veg and non-veg is very tasteful and healthy. I loved the dishes with all the different vegetables. The tropical green environment is beautiful, do go for a (gondola) boating or kayak trip. Perfect place to recharge and enjoy village life and nature.
