恩光酒館飯店(Sunnyside Tavern)

Was told it was rated 8.2 out of 10 but wouldn’t give the accommodation more than a 6. Room smelled musty upon entry and curtains and carpet needed a good air and clean. Bathroom was modern but small and how hard is it to install some hooks for your new and worn clothes and your towel. And don’t start me on the fact that NO fridge or kettle was in the room. Plenty of room for both and barely a $500 spend would have made this a much better experience. Had to ask for bowls and cutlery and tea and coffee but no instant was available. And just be warned if you’re a senior that all their rooms are up a steep flight of stairs and the car park is very small before you’re out parked on a Main Street. Did I mention the pub is situated between a busy road and a rail line. Oh, and there were either rats or possums scratching above our ceiling most of the 3 night booking so that was entertaining. So yes, 6 was a high rating now thinking back. But the bed was very comfy and the food down below was excellent and the bar service was great. But a little bit of expense and effort from them would help have a much more enjoyable stay. Sorry guys, but Definitely not a honeymoon destination.

Great place very comfortable and quite. No noise from the bars up stairs while in the room. No noise from the other rooms. Recommend for a quite night

Did not stay at this hotel even though we paid for it due to the lack of cleaning the toilet was covered in poo including the seat and the hole room was dirty out side was empty grog cans and pee stains on concrete at door entrance

Shower was so dirty we bought thongs to wear so we didn’t have to stand on the tiles. The shower head was falling out of the wall. The walls ok the bedroom were covered in dust The tv was scratched to hell. Bed was very average,

Very good - staff friendly & particularly helpful. Not so good - horrible smell in stairs & corridor. Not sure what it was, smelled like a cross between stale wee/vomit & disinfectant.

Clean, comfortable and convenient accomodation close to Racecourse. Great pub food and facilities.

I liked the quietness of the room despite being above a bar.. Would have liked more information in the room about facilities to make tea or coffee. Parking was excellent..

Too much noise with the music going and then people coming up stairs after 12 continuing that noise with yelling slamming doors ect won't stay again on a Sat night that's for sure

Clean serviceable accomodation within a short drive or 25 min walk or Newcastle Racecourse. Food was good, staff were friendly and efficient. Will return.
