My recent experience at Celyn Hotel in Kota Kinabalu was unfortunately disappointing. Although I understand it’s a budget hotel, basic standards of cleanliness should still be upheld. When I checked into my room, it felt like it had been used without proper cleaning. There were visible signs of neglect, and to my dismay, I even encountered a cockroach in the room.
Cleanliness is non-negotiable, regardless of the hotel’s price range, and this is an area where Celyn Hotel really needs to improve. Guests deserve a clean and comfortable environment, and it's clear that attention to these details was lacking during my stay.
On a positive note, I want to give a shout-out to the Trip.com agent who handled my concerns quickly and professionally. They were very helpful in resolving the matter and made sure that I felt taken care of, which somewhat improved an otherwise negative experience.
In summary, while Celyn Hotel offers budget accommodation, they seriously need to step up their housekeeping efforts. For future guests, I hope the management takes these reviews into consideration and makes cleanliness a priority.
