馬可波羅飯店 - 阿米尼斯(Marko Polo Hotel by Aminess)

This place is a mixed bag. The staff are very nice and helpful. The public spaces are nice and everything is spacious. The pool area is beautiful. The included breakfast is excellent. After that, things go downhill. The hallways are industrial. We were upgraded to a junior suite which was large and had a good view. But everything is worn and dingy. The safe with our passports would not open. The shower head blew off it’s mounting when turned on. The air conditioning stopped working. One chair was filthy. Four of us were on a trip with e-bikes, as were others including a large group. But the hotel only has ONE outlet that can charge bike batteries; it’s in a storeroom. That is problematic, especially when others come in and unplug you (hello, Backroads?). So, be warned.

Generally a nice hotel. The staff were all great - warm, friendly and very helpful. Beds were comfortable and the hotel was clean. Pool area is nice and not too crowded though I can imagine when the hotel is busy (we went before the rush) it may be a challenge getting sun beds. There is good service from the pool bar but lunch options are a bit limited. Breakfast buffet choice was excellent. As reported by other people, the air conditioning was struggling to keep things cool. Our room could not go below 25°C. Also the rooms are not that modern and lack refrigerators which could have kept bottles of water cool. Fridges are available at a big cost. No team / coffee making facilities either which most 4 star hotels offer. The bathrooms look a little tired and need refurbishment. There is a bar but there is no atmosphere or decent service in the evening (most cocktails are not available to staff do not know how to make them which is a missed business opportunity for the hotel). It even closes early when staff go home which again is a missed opportunity. Location is great. Just a short walk into town and there is a nice beach very nearby.

Needed a room just for a short overnight stay, as experienced some back injury and was forced to abandon sailing excursion. During checked in, asked for a room with easy access and a shower, not a bath, due to mobility issues which were pretty visible. Received a room where around 40 steps were needed to be taken to get there (separate building, no other option to get there) and... bath of course! Another surprise came when wanted to use the bathroom - there were no towels there! So wanted to call reception and ask for one. Though there was a phone in the room, there was not any info book nor a dedicated button on the phone to reach reception. Trying to be smart, found a phone in the internet, which turned out to be a one for their central reservation system (there are more than one hotel in the group). As it was pretty late, there was not any service, however, according to the message, you could dial to reach a specific hotel reception. The only problem was once you tried, you were immediately disconnected... Don't repeat my mistake and make some other choice

Where you get dropped by the ferry, it’s just a 7 minute walk to the hotel, but there is a slight hill. The position of the hotel is good which overlooks the bay of Korcula and old town. Access to old town is easily walkable. In my opinion the hotel itself does not warrant being a 4 star…. More like a 3 star, it needs a complete refurb. Although the pool area is nice, the Sun loungers are the white plastic ones which are very uncomfortable. We went to the pool at 08:30 one morning and weren’t able to access a towel, which you have to queue for at main reception until 09:30! Breakfast pretty basic. You have to queue at a machine for tea/coffee. Our room was allegedly non-smoking but it stank of cigarettes. Toiletries were also poor where there was just one of those squeezy things by the shower for body and hair wash. However, Korcula is a stunning island with lots of beautiful restaurants in old town. We took a 4 hour buggy safari trip which the hotel holds flyers for. That was a great fun way to see the island and well worth 70 euros pp.

It’s such a shame about this hotel. The pluses are the location (easy walk into the old town) and the staff (understandably demotivated but very friendly). We stayed with our two teens this August. The hotel is fit for a major refurb and urgently needs it. It seemed to us that Aminess Hotels are not investing any money in repairs (so many things not working or out of order: indoor pool, hot tub, pool fountains, aircon etc) even the coffee machine at breakfast which led to queues for 25mins a for a coffee. The staff are understanding and doing there best. This review is aimed at the management and owners who are charging 4* prices for 2* accommodation. It’s overall very worn down and tired. The rooms we had were the basic rooms, we had Mold in the shower, dirty carpets, only one bedside lamp, no coffee making facilities, no fridge. It’s such a shame and I’m sure we will either see a renovation in years to come or a demolition and rebuild as the location is superb. We are now seeking compensation. Korcula is wonderful, this hotel is not.

Hotel muy bien situado a menos de diez minutos andando del centro histórico. Playa a menos de cinco minutos. Piscina. Habitación y baño correctos. Desayuno acorde con la categoría del hotel. El hotel no es nuevo pero está bien mantenido. Parking en el exterior por tres euros al día. Caro, pero se ve que es lo habitual en Korčula

Avoid. The air conditioning in the room is non existent, the room never went below 25 degrees during our stay. It was not resolved and the hotel are now not interested in feedback. Such a shame for an otherwise nice hotel but if you want to be able to sleep then pick somewhere else.

After reading many negative reviews, we were a bit sceptical about this hotel. We couldn’t have been more wrong. We found the staff to be so helpful, from our arrival to our departure. The wonderful buffet had something for absolutely everyone. The food was kept suitably hot, and we enjoyed all of the variety of our meals. Breakfast was such a treat. Our room 314, was very spacious, with a beautiful view over Korcula town. Gorgeous. Emilija was our fabulous bar tender, and made such great drinks…. Friendly, helpful, and such a pleasure to chat to. Some tourists tried to tell her she was producing a drink incorrectly, but we stood by her - she was doing it just how it should have been served. She remained professional, even though she had been incorrectly challenged. The hotel is very large, with indoor and outdoor pools, gym, children’s areas, stunning views, gardens and many places to sit and pass the time of day. We loved the garden walk to the beach! There was a group of about 50 children - they were on a residential. They were unbelievably well behaved, quiet, respectful of the other hotel guests. They were a joy to behold. Well done to the leaders - the children were a credit to you. Like so many businesses, this hotel has suffered from lack of visitors since Covid. Perhaps those writing negative reviews would do well to remember that ‘freshening up rooms’ etc comes at a cost. If you don’t have guests, you’re not earning. Instead, have more compassion and be less selfish, and praise the hotel staff for keeping smiling in times of adversity, The hotel manager was superb - super friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to chat to. Thank you everyone - you’re doing a fantastic job, and we can’t wait to come back. Keep up the good work.

Pleasant stay. Clean rooms and spacious by European standards. Ample outlets for charging. No fridge in room. Breakfast is adequate but not spectacular. Great storage for our bikes. Pleasant pool area. Great views from the room even on level 1 Gentle breezes made sleeping peaceful . Front desk staff helpful.
