三曼塔瑞特飯店(Samahita Retreat)

Samahita is located on a lovely beach, appear luxurious, the staff is friendly and helpful and the food is Ok. My room however was really tiny and faced a 2m high concrete wall 2 m from the door, no other windows, the bathroom was shared, which was ok, a narrow space connected to the other room using the bathroom and this was the only space to dry your towels and swimsuit, only it didn’t dry there. The yoga was Ok but it was the practically the same yoga class repeteted every day, mot very inspiring. I did not participate in the fitness classes. As a whole I cannot recommend this resort

Ich habe in Summe 5 Tage im Samahita Retreat verbracht und habe mich hier sehr wohl gefühlt. Die Anlage des Retreats ist wunderschön und mit vielen Details gestaltet, es gibt überall etwas zu entdecken. Die friedliche Umgebung trug dazu bei, dass ich ich mich direkt sehr entspannt und angekommen gefühlt habe. Das Programm über den Tag hinweg ist gut getaktet, sodass man zwischen 10 und 16 Uhr Gestaltungsspielraum für z. B. eine Massage hat oder einfach am Strand entspannen kann. Ab 10 Uhr, direkt nach dem 1. Yoga-Kurs, wurde das Frühstück eröffnet. Lunch wird bis 1:30 Uhr serviert und das Abendessen ab 18 Uhr nach dem 2. Yoga-Kurs. Gerade die sehr leckeren Mahlzeiten boten eine super Gelegenheit sich mit anderen Gästen zu unterhalten und auszutauschen. Insgesamt war es eine wundervolle Erfahrung und ich kann es nur wärmstens weiterempfehlen.

I came to Samahita as part of a yoga retreat and was quite uncomfortable the whole time. I even felt the desire to end my trip early… The staff were not very friendly or communicative which is highly unusual based on my stays at other Thai hotels. Often when asking the front desk manager or head of restaurant staff for something, they seemed annoyed. We were placed in rooms across the road with the hardest mattresses I’ve ever slept on and the shower drain was clogged. Every meal was VERY similar to the next and sadly not very tasty in my opinion (I am vegetarian and used to plant based meals.) On a daily basis the kitchen ran out of food during meal time and if you weren’t there early you were left with scraps for a while. There were many hours when there was nothing readily available to eat or drink other than water. The beach in front of Samahita is the filthiest I have ever seen in my entire life, and I have been to many places around the world. I even cleaned a bit on the beach with my daughter but the amount of garbage was so extreme we realized we couldn’t make much of a dent despite our efforts. Yet on the other side of the island at our other hotels the beaches were pristine…. I also found it annoying that we had to carry our yoga mats around and there wasn’t a designated place for them inside the yoga area. Additionally the on site spa is very plain and there seems to be an IT room in there which adds a weird vibe. The massages were good though. Finally upon checkout the hotel didn’t properly charge us and then a few days later came chasing us (to the wrong email) which I found really disorganized. Samahita is the main reason I have no interest in returning to Ko Samui.

The first retreat I've been to, and it was an ok experience. I chose this particular retreat because of the "spin" aspect of the retreat. i figured it would offer a higher level of intensity type of classes. I found that they open the doors for the spin room at 7am, and it was either "instructor led or individual". It ended up being individual and was to be completed in "quiet time". Def not your traditional spin experience. There was a secondary class at 4pm that was core or spin or a combo or no spin at all. So.. def that was not the focus of the retreat which was a huge bummer. I attended yoga. few times, which was fine. The food for the most part was excellent. The rooms were very nice, but I had very large spiders in the bathroom almost daily for the 10 days I was there. The cleaning staff would come clean, but not quite what i expected from a retreat of this price range. Laundry and massage or "brain health (red light)" services were extra and were a LOT extra compared to the outside. A traditional thai massage-approx 400 baht, at the resort upwards of 1200 baht each (and even if it's added to the package--way more expensive). Laundry (should range around 40-50 baht per kilo) was a mandatory 180 baht minimum. Other than the food I truly enjoyed the Thai staff! They were so kind and outgoing! Overall, a very nice facility with a lot of potential.

I’ve been coming to Samahita since 2009 and will be coming hopefully for many more years! It is truly “home away from home”, place to nourish your mind, body and soul, deepen your yoga practice and learn. Can’t wait for next year! Olga

Ich hatte eine wunderbare Zeit mit tollen Menschen in einem wunderbaren Retreat, tollem gesundem Essen, eine Wohltat für Körper und Geist, nette und menschliche Mitarbeiter und Lehrer. Auch als Alleinreisende super wohl gefühlt. Sehr familiär, da es nicht so riesig ist und eine ruhige Umgebung.

I spent one week at Samahita and I wished I have more time as I enjoyed it to the fullest! The yoga and core/cycle workouts were great. The unique Samahita yoga style is pleasent and the techers are always very well coordinated to provide the best experience to the guests. For the afternoon core/cycle sessions we always had options so that all levels could participate and have a demanding workout. The rooms and all amenities are very spaceous and nicely decorated and the food is just delicious and healthy. I felt like at home from the very first day when I was warmly welcomed by the staff. Thank you so much to the whole team, I am looking forward to join again in the future.
