À éviter à tout prix ! Les photos sont trompeuses : les baies vitrées des chambres donnent directement sur la terrasse du restaurant, à seulement quelques mètres. Impossible d’avoir la moindre intimité avec ce vis-à-vis permanent. Côté propreté, c’est une horreur. À notre arrivée, les draps étaient sales (taches et cheveux). Après réclamation, seul le drap du dessous a été changé, ce qui signifie que les taies et le drap du dessus ne sont tout simplement pas lavés entre les clients… Quant à l’eau du robinet, elle était marron et peu engageante, même pour se laver. Nous avions réservé pour quatre nuits, mais face à l’insalubrité et au manque de confort, nous avons préféré partir, malgré l’absence de remboursement possible. Pourtant, après un mois de voyage en Thaïlande, nous avons l’habitude des hébergements sommaires, mais ici, c’était invivable. L’hôte, en plus, s’est montré agressif lorsque nous avons annoncé notre départ. Et pour ne rien arranger, l’hôtel est situé dans un quartier délabré de l’île, qui tient plus du bidonville que d’un cadre accueillant. Horrible expérience ! Fuyez cet endroit.

Struttura accogliente, staff gentile e disponibile. Camera semplice ma pulizia giornaliera e ogni due giorni cambio biancheria. Colazioni fantastiche e cibo ottimo. Posizionato nel paese dei pescatori, comodo per il paese con shop e ristoranti. Spiaggia privata non usufruibile.

It’s a small guest house with around 10 rooms situated in the heart of the fishing village in Ko Mook. Consequently the beach isn’t perfect white sand- at low tide it’s a bit muddy with the detritus you expect in a working village. This is generally true of all the beaches on Ko Mook except Charlie Beach on the other side of the island (interesting 25 min walk). Our room had a patio facing towards the sea, it was a good size, very clean, with a/c and a comfy bed. (No fridge or tv if for some reason you wanted one!) We slept well though there was some early morning cockerel activity and caged birds are very popular on the island. The neighbours have 2 mynah birds who have perfected a wolf whistle, so expect to hear that as a dawn chorus! The staff are friendly and a couple speak ok English. It’s a 5 minute walk into the main part of the village and to the boat pier. A highlight for us was seeing turtles and dugongs from the pier.On one night around 10pm we saw 3 dugongs very close up and countless turtles. This is apparently very unusual- even locals were excited. We paid 1000THB for the room which was a fair price. We actually asked if we could stay longer but unfortunately they were full. Ko Mook is an interesting island, with more locals than tourists. The guest house is amongst their homes rather than surrounded by resorts which I really enjoyed but if you’re looking for a sterile resort experience it may not be for you.
