紅松鼠 - 史蒂文森馬斯頓旅館

The hotel is separate from the bar/dining area, lucky enough the weather was fab. The place was clean, could have done with lockers to put undies in, as the wardrobe was open plan. Breakfast took forever to arrive, rashers were like soles on your shoe. Staff were friendly until they told us at 9.30 pm last orders. They closed at 10.15pm Same thing happened the following night, this time we were out in the beer garden which is lovely, again told last drinks at 9.30pm by 10.15 the girl said we had to leave, when I said just shut the place up and we can stay in the beer garden as there is nowhere you can sit in hotel. In an abrupt way she said we must leave the premises. We were like school kids leaving. Shame as I won't be going back there again

The Red Squirrel has a great central location in Stevenston, for touring Ayrshire and Glasgow is not too far away. The accommodation is in an annexe within a short distance of the Red Squirrel Bar and Restaurant. Our room was comfortable and spacious, and there were no problems with it. The restaurant and bar had a nice atmosphere and food wise there is a wide ranging menu and prices are very reasonable. Service from the staff that we encountered was friendly, although the period between placing our order and receiving our food was long for the three days we had breakfast. Overall, it was an enjoyable stay with good value food and accommodation. Recommended

Very nice time with the family here today for lunch. Very cost efficient and a nice environment for a meal. Would highly recommend for others! Staff are very attentive and quick service. Areas to keep kids busy whilst you waiting on the food arriving

Excellent value for money. Chose 4 small plates to share, food was great, hot and well presented. Staff were attentive and pleasant. Turned up without reservation no problem. Will definitely visit again. Oh and next time I’ll bring my dog as they’re dog friendly too.

This is a charming pub/restaurant just outside Stevenston Ayrshire. I regularly charge my car nearby and pop in. The staff are polite, friendly and attentive. The food is well priced and tasty. I would not hesitate to recommend the Red Squirrel to anyone passing that fancies a stop.

First time in a few years returning to the Red Squirrel received a 30% discount via post or I believe you can go online to download discount. Been very disappointed in previous visits a few years ago even though we went often enough to work our way through the menu Happy to say glad we went back the food was fresh and very tasty on arrival member of staff welcomed us and asked if we are dinning in or just drinks we decided to eat and ordered Gammon steak only to be told None left this can happen so quickly ordered chicken burger and steak pie. Order was slightly long but no complaint if this meant it was freshly made and both meals got the thumps up The only recommendation would be polish the tables ? they look clean but are getting rough looking most likely due to just dry wipe tables instead of polishing them not saying all the time but at least weekly during a deep clean of restaurant. The staff are all very friendly and willing to help if required Looking forward to returning and tasting the Gammon steak
