Nice hotel and views. Overpriced for a 3 stars hotel

I’ve traveled extensively, but my stay at Onomo Hotel Kigali was by far the worst hotel experience I’ve ever encountered. The service was terrible, they serve international cuisine, but it is the worst food I've had. The tablecloths in the dining area were dirty, making meals even more unappetizing. After enduring four unpleasant nights, I had to cut my trip short and leave three days earlier than planned. When I inquired about a refund for the unused nights, the staff initially informed me that they typically charge for one night in case of cancellations. However, they had me fill out a form at the reception and assured me I would be reimbursed for three nights within three weeks. It’s now been over two months, and not only have I received no refund, but they’ve also completely ignored my follow-up emails. What’s even more outrageous is that their booking policy claims they don’t charge anything until 12 PM on the day of arrival—yet here I am, still fighting to get my money back for nights I didn’t even stay. This is basically stealing my money. This level of unprofessionalism and dishonesty is unacceptable. I would strongly advise against staying at Onomo Hotel Kigali. Save yourself the trouble and book somewhere else!

A lovely time spent here at Onomo Hotel in Kigali - friendly staff and lovely local food offered with Western offerings too. The Nyama Choma night was awesome too. Activities in the evenings over the weekend and live music, makes for a lively and relaxed ambience. Will definitely return.

I hosted a small conference at the Onomo Hotel in June, and it was perfect. Our conference room was just the right size, beautifully set up each morning in white cloth, the AV worked perfectly, and the WiFi allowed a speaker from Washington DC to join us remotely. We ate our meals at the beautiful lunch buffet, enjoyed delicious snacks, and had lovely outdoor space for smaller discussions on a terrace alongside the conference room overlooking the valley. Great thanks to Derrick Mugabi, the wonderful Sales Manager, for arranging each detail with me by email and teleconference. He was supported by a tremendous team, including the Manager, Front Desk and Conference Teams, Chef and Restaurant Staff. This hotel is a gem and our stay could not have been better!

The overall experience and service at Onomo Hotel was lovely. The food was great (I recommend the Moroccan lamb, beef burger and Chateau Briand). The swimming pool however is quite small and was out of service for our stay less 1 day. The room is functional but small. The view from the Hotel is picturesque but room cleaning was rather slow. The Hotel staff are professional and very helpful. I would definitely stay there again when next I travel to Kigali

I appreciate the ambiance around the hotel. The reception and staff of the hotel were very hospitable and polite. Check-in to the hotel was seamless. I particularly appreciated the professionalism displayed by the receptionist - Ruth, and her colleague (Fabrice). The hotel training facility was also very conducive. The waiting time for meals sometimes needs improvement. However, if you go for the buffet, it is always on time. The hotel is a very sociable space. I will certainly visit again anytime I am in Kigali. It is a 5 star rating for the room.
