Great Hotel, fantastic Food. Rooms are spacious, Nespresso machine, water, local apple juice in the fridge - all complementary. Swim and steam room before dinner. The spa and pool area are not massive but get the job done. We ate in the Brasserie restaurant for dinner. Really good food. My wife is Coeliac and the waiters were very informative and looked after us very well. Few drinks in the main bar in the hotel afterwards and sitting by the open fire on a winters evening. Just perfect. Lovely breakfast the following morning, looking out at the falls. Breakfast a mixture of buffet and table service. Walk around the extensive grounds then afterwards to burn in off. No complaints. Solid hotel and worthy of its 5 stars for the service, setting and food.

Sheen Falls Lodge is a really special place. We stayed for a family break with our 3 teenage children and every member of our family loved it. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The service is warm, efficient and friendly in reception, bar and restaurants. Breakfast and dinner were unforgettable. We walked the grounds, played tennis and did horse riding. The health club is excellent and we had a really valuable gym session with Finn. A highlight for us was dinner in the Falls restaurant with wine pairings chosen by José. Highly highly recommend

Beautiful setting overlong Sheen Falls. Very comfortable rooms, very good dining options. Lots of activities available on site from horse back riding to fishing. Lovely property to explore by foot and a short walk to a charming little village just outside of the gates.

Nous avons séjourné à l’hôtel courant Avril. La suite 209 offre une vue incroyable sur le pont, et l’entrée de l’estuaire. Calme absolue. Le personnel est attentionné et aux petits soins pour nous permettre un séjour très agréable. Le petit déjeuner fut gargantuesque et d’une qualité irréprochable scramble eggs maison….Merci à Eva pour nous avoir accompagné dans nos différents choix. Et merci à toute l’équipe de ce très bel établissement.

For a 5 star the place was freezing……switch on the heating!!!

Stayed here recently for two nights. Booked a beautiful signature suite which was directly overlooking Kenmare bay. Gorgeous room with stunning scenery to all around. Room was very clean, large bathroom with an extremely comfy bed also. Opted for room service one of the nights. Menu was a limited. Food was decent, nothing amazing. We booked a lift into Kenmare for the second night availing of the complementary shuttle service offered to guests. We booked this the previous day for 8.15pm as we had an 8.30pm reservation in Kenmare. This was not accommodated however as even though we arrived early, nobody was there at the time and we were late for our booking as a result. Bit disappointing that the hotel offers this service but made no real attempt to stick to the booking. Had drinks and food in the bar one of the days also. Again beautiful setting. Food was relatively good. Found the service slightly unsatisfactory and my partner even commented on the differences in how some guests were being treated compared to others which was definitely noticeable. Service everywhere else in the hotel was great it must be said but the bar staff definitely left it down on this occasion. Overall an enjoyable stay, our second time staying at Sheen Falls however I would expect slightly better in terms of the issues above given the 5 star status of the hotel. We do still really enjoy visiting though and would recommend.

A gorgeous location and very relaxing but a slightly muddled, old fashioned hotel. It felt a bit tired to me with a mix of decor. I'm really not keen on spending over 400 euros a night for a room with a plastic toilet seat either and a hairdryer that didn't work. That said the rooms are large and very comfortable and we did have a lovely view of the Falls. My mum and I had a massage, both of which were excellent and really made the stay worth it, although the therapists really try and upsell hard. Too hard. Its not necessary. But the real problem here was the food. Its just massively below the standard that it should be. The breakfast buffet needs bringing right up to date, it was very limited and very old fashioned - not even a granola - no flourishes or real variety. Room service was quite awful. I tried a traditional Irish stew given it was our first night in Ireland, it was warm, not hot, looked like it had been sitting all day in a pot, the meat was fatty, the broth tasteless. The salt pot was empty, no butter. I mentioned this at reception on check out and was ignored. It felt like the hotel only cares about weddings. When queuing to ask if our room was ready both receptionists walked off and didn't even acknowledge me standing there. they were seeing guests for a wedding to their room with their tote bags and free gifts.

A wonderful stay at this excellent hotel. Location difficult to beat adjacent to the falls. A mile out of lovely Kinsale but regular free shuttle service so not a problem. Very warm welcome on arrival and a very spacious, well equipped room overlooking the falls. We ate in the brasserie and the gourmet Falls restaurant. Both excellent. Breakfast also very good. Only real issue was with the spa which is tired and in need of serious investment to bring it up to standard. Other than that hard to fault.
