德斯普飯店(Despo)

Al mijn 8e keer in dit super hotel. Deze keer met mijn puber kinderen. Ze vroegen aan het eind of we volgend jaar weer kunnen gaan. Zegt genoeg van pubers ,) Als je 1x hier geweest bent, wordt je behandeld als familie. Het is geen 5 sterren en ik merk dat sommige mensen dit verwachten bij een all inclusive hotel. Alles is gewoon goed : schoon, vriendelijk, goed eten, lekker zwemvest, gratis bus om 10u naar het strand en terug om 14u. Strand is 15 minuten lopen. Lokale bus op 5 minuten lopen en kost bijna nix.

Hotel Despo is altijd goed! Niet voor niets ben ik hier al voor de 7e keer in 2 jaar tijd. Meestal alleen, maar afgelopen juli met mijn 2 puber kinderen. Zij vroegen na afloop of we volgend jaar weer gaan. Al het personeel is zo warm en vriendelijk, dat maakt dat je je thuis en welkom voet. De schoonmaak is altijd goed. Dus als je iets vindt wat niet schoon is, dan heeft dat een reden die niet met de schoonmaak te maken heeft. Ze staan hier de hele dag schoon te maken, de tuin bij te houden en het naar je zin te maken. Katerina, de receptioniste, Manos en Giannis van de bar en Manos van het restaurant staan altijd voor de gasten klaar. Het hotel is bezig te renoveren. Een aantal kamers zijn klaar. De rest moet nog. Maar ook de oude kamers zijn gewoon prima. Alles werkt, maar het is oud. Het eten in het restaurant is geen 5 sterren, maar altijd goed en lekker.

Upon arrival, we were accommodated in the basement of the hotel. The room was small and not very cozy. The food selection was monotonous throughout the stay. The hotel pool was perfect, as the beach is 600m away, so you don't want to walk all the time. The hotel bar was excellent, acceptable drinks and as a bonus ice cream. For the undemanding, an excellent hotel with a walk to the beach.

We arrived near midnight and was told we could not get a drink or any food so we just opted for water (payable) after a 12 hour day travelling. Rooms are small but clean and functional. Maids are amazing: Apart from the night we arrived we have found staff to be lovely and helpful. BUT and BIG BIG BUT - the food is diabolical. No cappuccino or white coffee this morning in the machine but no one had checked to refil. Cheese is mainly curled up on the edges, food is recycled at breakfast as is the bread! Most food is swimming in oil. There’s no toaster and just bread or Melba toast. For continentals this might be ok but for English - hot dog sausages?!? Lunch and main meals, only 1 potato choice per day, 1 veg per day, same meat every day - barely anything for kids if you have any - puddings are non existent. Well, might as well be - a tiny piece of cake or watermelon. The only fruit available is melon or grapes. There is basically no vareity of choice. Same salad bar every day. That’s the food. All inclusive drinks / 3 local spirits and wine or beer which was very disappointing. Not even water. All in all zero out of 10 for the food 7 out of 10 for rooms 8 out of 10 for staff as most but not all were lovely friendly and helpful.

Such a lovely, welcoming place. The staff really couldn’t do enough to help you. They were very friendly and adored the children. It’s a smaller hotel which was perfect for our family to relax and unwind. Not too far from the beach and bus stops to get to other places easily. We stayed for 2 weeks and will definitely go back again

Dirty beds, bad room services and cockroaches were buzzing in our ears 24/7. The food was terrible and the bare minimum was served. They didn’t serve Greek style food whatsoever. There was one restaurant with no AC. We had to buy toiletries, drinking water, slippers and we had to pay for AC. Make sure you take/ buy a lot of mosquitoes repellent. The only good thing about the hotel was the garden ( if it wasn’t noisy with cockroaches) and Clair, the receptionist, who was very helpful and friendly. We were in there in August 2022. It was our first time to Greece and we were looking forward to celebrate our child’s birthday there, but turned out to be a worst hotel experience, unfortunately.

DESPO is rated 3 star and without sounding a little snobbish we usually go 4 or 5 only because we have young children and go all inclusive,but this time our budget was slim and we only had a week.Anyway.. the welcome was ok apart from the room Tax and air conditioning which cost 8€ a night.The rooms were very "3 star",basic but clean and tidy.Two in a room was ok but three was crammed.Pool is very clean and tidy and the gardens are immaculate.kudos to the gardener.Food was very good and the restaurant staff were very nice.There is no Entertainment in the evening what so ever so take your own.The bar has limited drinks on the all inclusive ,I think maybe 5 different ones are available.Free bar ends at 10.30 which is a little early.Its a 20 min treck to the beach on foot but they have a bus that takes you down at 10am and returns for lunch.The nearest beach is probably the best for a good 5 mile which is nice.There are a couple of bars,restaurants and a supermarket 10 mins walk from the hotel.Overall the Hotel is pretty good and if they had a little entertainment,maybe a band or artist a few times a week I'd give it a 4 star rating.If you have little ones and you have early nights this hotel is perfect.

Good location to spend some free time with family 👍😍 Food ok, and good variety. Rooms are very clean. They clean everyday. Very good bar service and good hosts. They offer free transfer to the beach!!

We spent a great time at DESPO Hotel , all staff very friendly, the place was pleasant and clean , food was great the barman Pool was friendly and make us welcoming all the time . Was so relaxed and quiet. Well recommend
