We had an amazing stay at this hotel, clean neat and cozy room with complimentary water, delicious breakfast you will be spoiled for choice, good location as it is on the beach with sun beds for your relaxation after swimming in the ocean. Assorted wines and drinks for your refreshment, excellent customer service Neema went over and beyoud to show us around the hotel. If you are looking for a quite and intimate holiday destination for you to rewind, recharge and bond with your loved one this is a place for you.

Gemütliches kleines familiär geführtes Hotel direkt am wunderschönen Strand. Alles sehr sauber und der Strand wird jeden Morgen gereingt. Die Küche ist ausgezeichnet auch für Veggies , auf Wunsch hat man mir auch nen Lobster zubereitet ,sehr gut, zu einem angemessenen Preis. Es gibt von Einheimisch über Pasta bis Hamburger mit Pommes nahezu alles ,auch an der schönen kleinen Bar an der man den Hotelinhaber fast jeden Abend trifft und ansprechen kann. Insgesamt sehr empfehlenswert Die Zimmer sind klimatisiert,zusätzlich ein Deckenventilator und man schläft sehr gut . Das gesamte Personal ist freundlich und zuvorkommend.

Très bon séjour de 5 nuits dans cet hôtel. Chambre avec vue mer très agréable avec petit balcon. Accueil parfait de l'ensemble du personnel local, très serviable et souriant. Bonne qualité des repas, salle agréable et ventilée. Emplacement très sympathique, belle plage de sable blanc. La ville est calme et reposante mais avec de bons restaurants proposant des plats de crustacés et poissons excellents et peu chers. Alors pourquoi 4 étoiles et pas 5 ? Le seul bémol est que nous ne sommes pas ni finlandais ni suédois et que le gérant (masculin) de l'établissement ne vous adresse alors ni un sourire ni un bonjour et ne vous adresse pas la parole, préférant la réserver à ces (nombreux) clients compatriotes, on a alors la désagréable impression d'être des intrus. C'est particulièrement mal venu et d'après moi une erreur de management que de faire un tel distinguo entre ses clients, d'autant plus que l'autre gérant (feminin) n'a pas du tout cette attitude et fut très accueillante. Je recommande néanmoins.

Magnifique petit resort sur la belle et longue plage de Matemwe. Propriété de 2 couples scandinaves, c'est beau, c'est calme, c'est propre et la cuisine est succulente. Belle piscine et chambres très confortables décorées d'objets artisanaux. Je recommande chaleureusement

I've stayed at Zanzibar Retreat multiple times, and it remains my top choice in Matemwe! The owners are incredibly friendly and helpful, making you feel truly welcome. The food is outstanding—always fresh, and you can tell it's made with love. They offer a daily special, which is always a treat. My room was spacious, with everything in perfect working order, from the air conditioning to the hot shower. It was beautifully decorated, adding to the cozy ambiance. This year, they've done an amazing job with the garden, creating a lovely pathway that adds so much charm to the property. If you're looking for a place to relax and be well taken care of, I highly recommend Zanzibar Retreat.

The most beautiful hotel we stayed in Zanzibar.Very friendly staff .The owners are very kind and friendly too. The rooms are always clean. We loved the food they serve everyday.This was my best holiday in Zanzibar staying here.I must come back.
