丁香別墅(Clove Villa)

Die Clove Villa in Kandy ist eine ausgezeichnete Adresse in welchem wir 2 Nächte verbracht haben! Das kleine Hotel liegt am ruhigen Ortsrand der quirligen Stadt. Das Haus ist modern ausgestattet, die Zimmer sind geräumig und zweckmäßig eingerichtet. Das gesamte Personal ist sehr freundlich, hilfsbereit und zuvorkommend. Aber der absolute Höhepunkt ist die ausgezeichnete Küche! Der Chef selbst bereitet die köstlichen Gerichte zu. Wir hatten am Abend immer Currys mit vielen Beilagen - einfach köstlich. Auch das Frühstück war immer ein wahrer Genuß! Es war nicht leicht, von hier wieder weiter zu ziehen. Alles in allem ein super Haus mit tollem Personal.

We stayed at Clove Villas for 2 nights during a 3 week tour of Sri Lanka. The quirky decor and furniture were unusual, but still classy. The food was great, with the chef catering to individual preferences & tastes, and offering a choice of local dishes and more Western options. But the standout was the staff - expertly attentive without intruding, helpful with suggestions and information about the area, incredibly flexible fitting in with us with pleasure, and charming and polite and interested in us. If you get the chance to go, do it!

My wife and I stayed here as part of a tour around Sri Lanka on our honeymoon. It's a really lovely boutique hotel with incredible, attentive staff. We arrived thinking it was a little out of the way but it was incredibly peaceful there and a TukTuk into town was only 10mins and about $3. We stayed 3 nights and was the perfect base to explore Kandy and surrounding areas (we did a day trip up to Sigiriya and Dumbella from here). Umesh and Danushka were brlliant, so helpful. DEFINITELY eat here and tell them early enough in the day to bag yourself the one table on the balcony if you can. We ate in the restaurant area which isn't the best environment but the food more than makes up for it. We had a Sri Lankan curry and a Butter Chicken which come with so many sides it's impossible to finish but honestly the best food you can find in Kandy and in the top meals we had over 3 weeks. We ate at the Hideout and Slightly Chillled Bar and a Japanese place (all top rated in the area) and the food was infinitely better. Shame it's overlooked as a destination. Thanks again for a lovely stay team!

I stayed here on Xmas Eve with my Fiancé and parents. The staff had arranged a Carol Concert performed by a local Ladies Choir and a special Xmas Eve dinner which was a nice touch. We arrived about 30mins late and they still waited for us. The dinner consisted of a set menu with 3-4 options for main courses and 1-2 options for starters and deserts. The rooms are large and clean. The entire place is beautifully decorated. The staff were friendly and attentive but not overbearing. We had to leave very early in the morning. The staff arranged a packed breakfast for us and were up early to assist us with our luggage. I would certainly stay here again if I was visiting Kandy.

This is a superb hotel - we only wish we had stayed longer. The two guys who ran it - one who was also the chef - were the best hosts. We had a gorgeously decorated room and the best meal we have had in all our travels in Sri Lanka - including Grandma's recipe aubergines - served with warmth and humour. The place is small, very comfortable and excellently equipped. We also played a round of pool on the mezzanine which made our night. Super recommended for a stay in Kandy.

Umesh and Danushka of Clove Villa made our stay above and beyond what we were expecting. This was one of the best accommodations on our 2 week trip to Sri Lanka with rooms and villa hotel decorated beautifully with a fantastic peaceful pool area. The unexpected surprise were the meals as we found out Umesh was a chef who prepared the best meals we experienced on this trip. As we continued on the trip we kept referring back to these meals which were over and above the rest. Danushka was also at hand providing the best service and attention for anything we needed. It really was Umesh and Danushka's detail and royal treatment provided who made this a special stay.

Sehr schönes Kleines Stadthotel. Sehr freundliches, zuvorkommendes Personal. Super leckeres Essen. Wird immer frisch gekocht. Tolles Frühstück Sehr zu empfehlen Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt Zimmer waren sehr geräumig und sehr sauber. Gutes WIFI

A beautiful small boutique hotel. Fantastic service. Great Sri Lankan food if you like spice. "Mild" spice is western "hot". It's a bit out of the centre, but there is a pleasant small garden with a small pool. Staff are extremely helpful.
