安福森林小屋(Amafu Forest Lodge)

Pledge and all the other staff, you were excellent and always friendy and helpfull. I really enjoyed my stay in the luxury tent. You will definitely see me again. Always willing tobwall the extra mile. The scenery is unbelievable and the bonus of the lions roaring in the background.

We visited Amafu Forest Lodge in December, where we encountered friendly staff, enjoyed delicious food at the restaurant, and had a fantastic time overall. What struck us the most was the privacy of our cottage, especially the Pauci cottage. The layout ensured that the other cottages were not close by, and the surrounding trees provided ample privacy. This allowed us to feel truly secluded in nature, creating a wonderfully romantic a**osphere for us as a couple.

We were treated incredibly well by Steve and his team. Breakfasts and dinner were delicious. Location was excellent for us and the setting is absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately the wifi was non-existant in our room but worked well in the restaurant. Thanks so much for your wonderful hospitality, it was truly appreciated.

Very warm welcome and service for dinners and breakfasts, superb location, wonderful views from our luxury tent, prices ok, location right in between the Panorama Road and the Kruger National Park....

Spent 2 nights at Amafu lodge. Service was excellent. Pledge and Steve(owner) made us feel very welcome and were very helpful. Location is great, situated next to Moholoholo Rehab center, so we could hear the lions at night. Also ideal to visit both Moholoholo and The Hoedspruit endangered wildlife center (make sure you get bookings for Endangered wildlife beforehand). Also very convenient for a trip up Maripskop. The cabin was comfortable and had a kitchenette with all equipment necessary for self catering. The cabin was well kept. but needed some maintanance. Due to the hot weather we made use of the swimming pool, which was well maintained. Unfortunately the sun umbrellas were broken, so we moved our chairs into the shade provided by the trees. Overall a good stay.

On arrival we were taken to our allocated accommodation in the Timber Cottage. We were not overly impressed with the accommodation and asked if there was another cottage. The very efficient, helpful and cheerful lady, Pledge, went out of her way to organize a wonderful cottage up on the hill. The view from the patio out towards the Kruger National Park was incredible enhanced by the roars and calling of the lions, the calls of the jackal and hyena during the night. Made this a most memorable stay. The restaurant was also a wonderful surprise. We had not anticipated that the quality of the food that we ordered would be of such a high standard. Thank you Pledge and Steve for such a wonderful stay. When net we visit Kruger, Amafu Forest Lodge will most certainly be on our route and accommodation list.

Fairy tale setting for the beautiful thatched roof 2 bedroom cottage looking up at the Drakensberg mountains, wow! Fell in love with our host Steve. Felt like we've been friends forever. Staff members are friendly and helpful, thank you Pledge. Mama in the kitchen made delicious lunch and dinners served outside or in the stunning dining room. Very clean cottage with daily housekeeping. The gardens are stunning with the most unusual, special Cycads and trees. Sitting outside in the evening listening to the lions roar was the most amazing experience ever and only a 40 minute drive to Kruger National Park! We miss you and can't wait to come back to our beloved Amafu! Mark & Dar

The best host ever! Thank you Stephen Trollip my second cousin. A peaceful getaway on the side of the Mariepskop mountains. The cycad species is a rarity. We stayed in the Nubi cottage which was the original farm house. Loved every minute and was a wonderful birthday weekend getaway. Will definitely be back and highly recommend!

Upon arrival we were greeted with the nicest welcome by Steve (the owner) who gave us all the details about the lodge. Very friendly man. Pledge (the guest manager) was also very kind and friendly. She showed us to our room and made sure we were happy - which we very much were! The lodge we stayed in was absolutely beautiful, but after the first night being unusually windy, and the cabin making a lot of creaking noises because of this, Pledge offered us, without asking, a change of cabin in a more sheltered location. Very similar cabin and just as beautiful and clean too! The views from both cabins of the surrounding mountains were spectacular. Also with the sound of lions roaring in the night and hearing elephants in the morning, the location was amazing! It's also close to local restaurants, bars and a service station. I highly recommend eating a pizza at the Buck and Berg. One of the best pizzas I have ever had! A fantastic couple of nights there and couldn't have been happier.
