The room was very clean the staff very helpful. Mentioned the air didn’t work and they were there the next day and put in a new one. Can’t wait to go back was close to town and you could walk there. The view from the pool was great watched sunset every night met a lot of interesting people. Close walk to restaurants.

Great central Kona location! Units are mostly well maintained for older ones. An older couch needed to be replaced in our unit, but that didn't affect our stay. Our contact with the resort staff was prompt, positive and helpful.

The resort was a place to lay your head at night, try to plan ahead as much as possible. Not everything is a great place to visit as they portray it to be. Be prepared for rocky beaches, some are very difficult to get to, and not all are sandy.

This place is Awesome! The views are Amazing! Lisa is a Awesome Hostess as well as Kermit and James! What a Great staff! The Pool and Hot Tub is Wonderful over looking the Ocean. There is an Amazing Beach right to the left of the Property! Short walk to Everything! You will Love this place!

Lisa, is amazing. She is very knowledgeable about the island and all that it has to offer. She gave us recommendations for restaurants, and must see sites around the island. This is our second time at Kona Reef and we stayed in ocean view rooms both times. A fantastic view, wonderful breeze through the condo and the sound of the surf makes for a great vacation spot.

Kona reef We had an amazing stay at Kona Reef Resort in unit A36. The property is well maintained and the location is perfect! The unit has a comfortable king size bed and walk-in shower ensuite. The kitchen is dated but functioned well for making breakfast and light meals. There are NO condiments or seasonings so be sure to pick those up if needed. There’s a drip coffee maker (mesh basket so no filters required ), a coffee grinder and a Keurig coffee machine too. The unit also has lots of beach stuff such as chairs, umbrella, boogie boards and cooler bags. We made use of the washer & dryer which worked very well. The pool and grounds of the resort are well maintained. Pool is a nice temperature so I assume it’s heated. No issues finding lounge chairs. We spent much of our time on the lanai watching the surfers and boogie boarders; So entertaining. Honl’s beach is next to the property. Small beach with some sand but lots of rocks. We also saw plenty of whales and pods of dolphins throughout the day. When the sun is at the right angle we could also see tons of tropical fish along the rocks. Each unit seems to have different owners so we’d suggest paying close attention to the reviews to reserve the one best suited to your needs. We booked through Kona Coast Vacations. They were excellent! As for our unit, we’ll be looking to book it again!

We loved this place. Our unit, D15 faced the waterfront and view was gorgeous. Hearing the waves crash against the shore was magic. Front desk staff was very accommodating and provided room code a day in advance since we were getting there after hours on Christmas. It worked! The one bedroom unit with pull out couch was slightly dated but everything we wanted for three adults. Kitchen was clean and well equipped. There was a washer and dryer to use in unit. Getting TV to work was a challenge but if you are watching tv here you are doing vacation wrong. There is a bustling area of shops and restaurants a short walk away. Pool is small but nice. Hot tub was also tiny and had a seat ledge that was a little slanted so it felt you were slipping. Otherwise a wonderful experience.

Unit D5 and F13. DO NOT STAY HERE. What a disappointment! D5 The entire place smelled of a strong over bearing MOLD . Living room furniture was dirty, floor tiles cracked and filthy. Kitchen and bathroom - filthy. The bedroom bedspread had visible disgusting stains. ( see photo ) The patio door handle had a layer of slimy grim on it, curtains were hung with bag ties and the patio furniture was bare minimum and black dirt covering. Begged the owner to move us and ended with Unit F13 - shower was full of mold, ( see picture ) the fan blowing on the bed was full of grim and dirt ( see picture )and furniture felt very dirty. We did not sit on it the entire time we were there. The dishes in the kitchen were dirty with dried food on them. These units are advertising in deceit! Should be shut down until renovated. If you stay in these units with the mold you can potentially get sick. I do not recommend anyone to stay here.

This resort evidentally only rents a few of their units. The rest are privately owned. It appeared the owners and their guests were happy with the resort. However…we and several other guests waited over 2 hours to check in. All phone numbers on office were either nonfunctional or were ringing in locked office. Out room D4 was filthy. Holes in the walls, food spilled on walls and doorways. Hair in the bed. The couch was so dirty I put beach towels on it in order to sit. Bedroom smelled of mold. We are not unfamiliar with vacation rentals. We have owned two. I was appalled at the condition of the room
