We have stayed at the Seaside Lodge twice now and will visit again. The location of this place is on point: tranquil sea, snow covered mountains with amazing sun rises. The view from the dining room is unmatched.

Absolutly a lovely place. Owners were really kind and friendly. Place was clean and the beds where comfortable. The kitchen contains everyting you need to cook for yourself. The views are stunning from the living room and kitchen area. I couldn´t wish for more.

Bonne ambiance familial, personnel gentil, la vue depuis la cuisine est incroyable. Même si ce n’est pas dans le centre, cela vaut le coup de marcher !

I was surprised by the affordable price for the dorm room bed, the owners were absolutely the best and the view of the bay is unbelievable. Perfect for me as a backpacker, would 100% recommend. Book ahead as it fills up quickly!

the kaikoura seaside lodge provided for us exactly what we needed – a roof over our head and a toilet/shower! it’s very much a backpackers’ place – there seemed to be a lot of settled in regulars who were very comfortable around the place. there’s a lovely communal kitchen/dining area with a great view, but no spare food on offer to make sure to bring your own dinner/breakfast – especially as there’s not really anywhere super nearby to eat if you don’t have a car like us!!! the toilets/showers were very basic and felt a little icky but i think that’s just the vibe of a shared bathroom. the water temperature & pressure were perfect. good distance walk to the seal colony. for anyone wondering, there is also a kaikoura shuttle van service you can call and take you/pick you up to save the walk!!!
