S.G.S.Weerasinghe No 812, New Kandy Road, Malabe The Manager 7th June 2022 Grand Arena Hotel Kaduwela Dear Sir, This is with regard to the bad experience we had at the reception hosted by us at your hotel on 29th May 2022 , to mark the occasion of my daughter’s 12th Birthday. It is with extreme disappointment that I bring to your notice the embarrassment we had to face, with the very poor standard of the facilities and services provided by your hotel, at the said occasion. There were several guests who came all the way from England, Australia and Canada to join us with this happy occasion, since we had this party after a lapse of2 years, due to Corona and other travel problems. Some of them were driven straight to the hotel for the reception from the Airport. Myself and my husband were planning and were so determined to make this a memorable occasion and chose your hotel after reviewing your website which portrayed a completely different picture compared to reality. To our greatest dismay and extreme disappointment, from the beginning of the function we were made to encounter many difficulties, issues due to the bad management and poor services of the hotel staff, which are far below the expected standards. Some of the guests were served with the welcome drink after long hours of their arrival at the party. The party was interrupted several times with the power failures and even after switching on to the generator, interruptions continued. We were made to continue the function without A/C and the guests were so uncomfortable and sweating profusely. Having spent lavishly to have a grand occasion with our relations and friends, we did not get our monies worth at all, and my little daughter who was eagerly waiting for the occasion was thoroughly disappointed. In short, the reception was a nightmare, and we could not enjoy the occasion but disturbed eternally, by having to make complaints over and over, and demanding the staff to sort out the issues which fell on deaf ears, and no measures were taken to correct the issues until the end of the party. No courtesy shown at least by apologizing for shortcomings. We feel that we have been cheated, since the expected services and facilities for which we were charged were not provided. In short, your service and poor facilities ruined our birthday party completely. I thoroughly regret choosing your hotel to celebrate this memorable event of my daughter. All in all my expectation of this
