Literally next to the mall, which has banks, grocery stores and restaurants. The shower is nice and big, although figuring out the hot/cold water adjustments was a bit difficult. My chosen room was fitted with a corner to corner carpet. Personally, not too fond of carpets. But it was clean, which is a plus. Breakfast was definitely tasty, too bad I was in a rush.

My recent visit to City Lodge Newtown proved to be an exceptional experience. Room was spacious, clean and modern with a huge shower. Staff were very friendly and went the extra mile to assist us. Although the location around the hotel probably isn't safe to walk around at night the hotel itself felt completely safe and had all the amenities needed including a fitness centre and easy uber access to surrounding areas.

The reception staff and security were welcoming and friendly. I had a horrible experience with the restaurant. I ordered food and the food never came. I enquired and just found out that the waiter forgot about me after a good hour of waiting. The service at the restaurant is pathetic

Although I'm here for a very stressful reason, exams. I do enjoy to be at City Lodge in Newtown Johannesburg. It a nice place quite with clean and tidy rooms. I will continue using this venue for my accommodation until my qualification is finished.

My stay was unmatched. The hotel was clean , staff was friendly, delicious food and a lazing restaurant. Proximity to everything in Johannesburg interesting places like Apartheid museum ,museum Africa , Newtown junction mall and Market theatre amongst others
